I am having a problem quite early in the game, and nothing I've tried seems to work. Right after you see Yuan for the first time, after he leaves and Botta and some minions are approaching Lloyd, Dolphin crashes. I was using 4.0-480 or something like that, then I tried the latest dev, which was 4.0-607. Neither of those helped, so I went back to the stable version, 4.0.2, but that also did nothing. I usually use Direct3D11 for a backend, but when I switched to Direct3D9, I got it to go up to the next speech bubble, but once I hit the 'A' button, Dolphin would freeze, but not crash. I tried OpenGL, but I can not start a game with that setting and it froze Dolphin after 3 seconds of running. I've heard ToS ran quite well, with few minor bugs, and haven't heard anyone else with this problem, does that mean I'm out of luck? I would be very grateful if anyone knew how to fix this!
Thank you!
use the program "winmd5free" and get the ISO hash it produces and put it here. I've been playing the game without trouble.
Sorry, I'm not very computer savvy, but I googled 'winmd5free' and it says it only works up to windows 7. I have a windows 8, is that why I'm having problems?

Edit: I tested the MD5 hash of my disk 1 file, and it matches the one on redump.org, if that was what you meant.
Also, I finally found a workaround for this problem, but I would still really like to find out why this is happening.
First, describe the work around, secondly, describe the exact way to trigger the crash so I can attempt to reproduce. Don't leave out any steps or settings that you can think up.

I'm in the desert but will be replaying the game from the start, how far behind you am I? (I don't remember any town names...)
All of my settings are default, with Direct3D11 as the backend. The crash happens in the middle of a cutscene, where Botta and goons are approaching Llloyd, right before the rest of the gang shows up, in the same spot every time. I usually do not use save states, and use only the save features in the game, but to get around the crash, I switched the backend to Direct3D9, played to the scene, and since that backend gets me passed the crashpoint (but only up to the first speech bubble before freezing), I made a save state after the crash point, restarted Dolphin with the Direct3D11 backend again, loaded the save state, and though it skipped a speech bubble, it continued on.
Do you still have a save close to the point where the crash happens?

Yes, I still have a save close to the crash, thank you!
I attached it in a .zip file because the forum told me no when I tried attaching the save as a .gci
Can you post instructions as to how to reproduce the crash when using that save? Like, where to go, etc.
Of course!
When you load that save, all you have to do is go up and through the door. Once you're through the door, continue going up, and very quickly a cutscene will be triggered. Then all you have to do is keep pressing 'a' to continue through the speech bubbles. Yuan will come and go, and after he leaves, Botta and two minions begin approaching, after about three steps is when the crash happens for me. There should be maybe one more step, then Genis says something, the cutscene continues a little longer, and then it ends with fighting Botta.
The Botta cutscene freeze occurs for people using the Intel Integrated Graphics.
