Indeed, most freezing issues have long since been taken care of. The link for th latest builds, btw, can be found here: http://dolphin-emu.org/download
Hey guys, can you tell me why the menu when you start the game disappears whenever the projection hack is used?

Um, because it doesn't. :p

On or off, the Projection Hack doesn't mess with the menu for me. I'm on several fairly recent builds, but not the latest. Dolphin revision and settings?

Well, it messes up the title menu screen for me. It completely disappears with the projection hack. Im using revision 1341 and ive used many revisions bafore, and ive gotten the same results. When I turn on the projection hack, it disappears. When I turn it off, it comes back. Ive tried it without custom textures (those disappeared off the forum, what happened? Sad ), and turned on and off all of little tweaks (like the Open MP and widescreen hacks), and ive used several backends. Currently using OpenGL. Plus, of course, im using the new AX-HLE (and this happened before that was implemented). From my troubleshooting, it all stems down to the Projection hack. Thankfully all other game menus are fine.

Funny thing is, when ever I use any other backends besides OpenGL, the projection hack doesnt even work now lol.

I completed it without any problems (including sound). Are you using the latest stable version of dolphin, or the latest developement version? And does the game run at full speed?
Hello everyone,

I'm currently playing Tales Of Symphonia on Dolphin, thanks a lot for the great emulator !

Now, there's something I would really like to ask the gamecube and Dolphin players, is that normal, if there are MASSIVE scenario differences everywhere ?

I never played it on the actual GC, so who knows, but...

Well, I've read a few walkthroughs for occasional stuff I might leave behind, and, the more the game goes (nine hours and counting, I just beat the boss on top of the tower of Mana, saw the strange moon-sitting woman, and witnessed Colette's now less than likely "father" grant her a second angel poowers addon), the more I see what happens is nothing like what I read in walkthroughs O_o

For instance, that walkthrough : http://uk.ign.com/faqs/2008/tales-of-symphonia-walkthrough-868306
. Me, this was an old male priest who gave me the key to the tower of mana, not some woman.
. Pietro is still laying in his bed, finding the book with medical clues is not enough and he's nowhere close to raising from his bed
. I hurriedly skipped when I saw a "warning" message in caps locks, but Luin isn't in ruins at all for the moment
. Same here, I saw a spoiler warning, but my heroes don't manage to enter the second human ranch we see around Asgard
. Palmacosta, Desian stage : wut ?!? Never saw that, I was never allowed to leave on a boat from Izoold

See what I mean ?

I mean, did I mysteriously manage to skip two thirds of the scenario, through some weird magic ?
Did I destroy my game by mistake, is it all now gone to waste ?!? Huh

I would be really EXTREMELY grateful if a kind soul could clarify this for me, thank you if you can Smile
Can you post your memory card file online? A site like MediaFire would be fine. I've played it on the GC and on Dolphin. It's possible that 1) the guide is flat out wrong or 2) you lost your correct place in guide. If I have the memory card, I can play your save file and see if anything unusual it happening.

Btw, you are using Dolphin's emulated memory card, e.g. saving normally at save points in-game, correct? If you're using save states, that might explain why certain things seem out of order, especially if you use multiple save states taken at different times and your switch often between them.
Oliver; you inadvertently triggered what's commonly referred to as the "hard path" by going to Hima before taking the boat to Palmacosta, which forces you to do a bunch of stuff in the Luin/Asgard region before you can catch a ride on said boat.

The guide you linked to is based on the "normal path," which is why a lot of events will be different for the time being.

...and search (Ctrl+F) "hard path" for a flow of events.

Thank you SO MUCH, Wolfwood824 ! I was really worried !
It's true that I suddenly thought "hey, the enemies have become super stronger, now that's a challenge, yay !", now I know where it's coming from ^^

@Shonumi : I thank you very much, you too, for the kind offer to help Smile

Well, now, I can resume playing without fearing I have broken the game, haha. Long live the marvelous Dolphin forums ! Smile
