To create a FIFO log, follow these instructions from the Dolphin Wiki: http://wiki.dolphin-emu.org/index.php?title=FifoPlayer

Save it somewhere and then upload it to a site (DropBox, Mediafire, Mega) so you can link to it in the issue. On the Google Code page, just click on Issues and it's pretty much straightforward; enter in your info in the text box (be as descriptive as possible and fill out the info correctly) and then submit it.
So I hope I did everything right.
While my problem is still has not been solved with the OpenGL in the latest revisions I have encountered another audio problem. i do not know for certain but it might be only for this game. There seems to be a problem using Xaudio2 in the game compared to using Direct Sound. The problem I have occurred with using XA2 is that most often at times the audio will get distorted. It will be all mumbled and crackling and the like. So after switching from XA2 to DSound it fixes that problem. I do not know if this a common thing or if its just me but I thought I would point that out.

Hi!

I've recently aquired a new computer (i7 3770 and GTX 670) and I was wondering: is it better to play Tales of Symphonia on Dolphin or on Gamecube? As in, I know I could have nicer graphics with Dolphin, but are there bugs and whatnot that would outweigh the benefit of playing on emulator compared to console? Knowing I have a gamecube and the game in my possession. Also, that would be for a first playthrough, so if there is cutscene that never works and must be passed (for example) that would be something to consider.

Thanks!

Oh and if I understand correctly 3.5-1154 is the revision I should use for this game?
On the latest revisions, you shouldn't experience any major issues. A lot of people can play this game from start to finish these days without coming across game-breaking bugs. I'd go for playing it on Dolphin, though nothing's stopping you from using your GC. Once you see the game in HD though... You can't go back Wink

Yeah, the HD is what makes me lean toward dolphin ^^. Are there any particular settings to have the best graphics? Or do I just put everything to max in the enhancements tab of the graphics configuration?

Thanks for the answer!
You can probably max them out on this game if the AA you're using is MSAA. SSAA is more demanding; 3x IR and 4xSSAA should be doable without slowdowns though. Might as well enable per-pixel lighting. Other than that, there's no real secret, since projection hacks are enabled by default for this game.
Hi everybody!
I'm having some trouble with Tales of Symphonia. The intro movie stutters in some specific places, it slows down a bit and the audio 'stutters' while it's slow. It also happens during the initial prologue narrative.

I'm using Dolphin 3.5-1206, using HLE Emulation with Xaudio2 output, Diredt3D9, 2x Native Resolution, Scaled EFB Copy, EFB Copy to Texture and nothing more.

I'm running a Core i7 920, 6 GB RAM, with a 660 GTX-Ti as my graphic card.

Anything I should be doing to correct this? Tried fiddling with the frameskipper settings, changing DSP emulation, to no avail.
Arcia, I think that is a problem that everybody has. You can try OpenAL or VBeam emulation but they are unlikely to help much in this situation. Emulation is just slow in that area of the game.

Oh well, at least I know it isn't something I'm doing wrong.

What's VBeam emulation?
