Is there anyway to speed up flanoir?
I get fullspeed all the time with LLE, but only in flanoir it suddenly slows down to half the speed.
Just throwing this out there but that "double image" thing is not really a "problem". It's how the game looks on an actual Gamecube. No idea why the developers thought it was a good idea, maybe it's supposed to bring focus to what's happening in the middle of something? In any case it's a good thing that you can disable it when emulating but the terminology of problem/fix is a bit off.

I do realize how nitpicky this is. Just bored I guess.
Astearica, what are your settings, and what build are you using?

n-fani, as far as I remember, the game should look clear on an actual GameCube. This screenshot (and this one), taken from an actual GameCube proof that.
If you feel like the terminology and such are off, feel free to edit it on the wiki. Make sure to register an account before you edit.
I definitely remember parts of the screen being blurry in the same manner as in that example picture from Dolphin. It sometimes was more prominent and sometimes less. The Japanese PS2 version was clear.

I googled a bit and got threads like this suggesting I'm not just remembering wrong: http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/561316-tales-of-symphonia/50338074

However seeing as the effect might be exaggerated on Dolphin compared to the real thing (might be because of the low native resolution that makes everything a bit blurry anyway) I guess it's fine to leave it like that. I'd have to go get my Wii and/or Gamecube from my parents' house to be absolutely sure.

In this screenshot that's of the same area you can kind of see it. Tough to make out because of the low resolution and kinda low quality of picture but the house definitely seems more blurry near the left edge of the screen and the arch over the road is blurry too compared to the very center of the image.

Not quite sure if it's the same thing as that double image problem but would explain it. Gonna pass on editing the wiki for now in any case. Boy I should find something to do.

edit: Also in this shot if you compared Lloyd and Genis (characters on the center and on the far right) you can see that the one on the right is more blurred

That house defintely seems blurred.
But, dolphin wasn't doing this properly, it was creating double image for some reason. At the end, it looks very similiar.
Projection hack I guess completely disables blurring and image is clear.
Yeah, there isn't any 'double-image' issues on the actual hardware.
Infact, it should blur a certain radius around the center/main character, but due to the internal resolution increase, the blurring effect gets less blurry to the point where it's almost clearly visible.
The projection hack puts it exactly where it should belong.
Hi. I'm a long time with Dolphin now (before 2.0) and had seen that ToS got been better and better. Now there is everything perfect for me except one thing - I have a large stuttering in menu. Nowhere else the fps are dropping. I have made a video and screenshot of my settings (The video can't be uploaded on my hoster today-Don't know why o.O). ToS has special settings, so have more a look on the ToS setting file than the main dolphin file if someone has an idea for this issue
Hello Manaplayer,

First of all, what Dolphin build are you using?
I'm assuming you're using one of the latest builds, since you're playing with HLE, which had issues with earlier builds (3.0-xxx - 3.0-8xx or so).
If not; the latest builds have nearly fixed the HLE issues Tales of Symphonia used to have. So you don't need to use LLE.

Are you using the hires texture pack of Tales of Symphonia? If so, that will truly devastate your performance. Dolphin seems to have issues with the menus in Tales of Symphonia, and the hires textures make it worse.

During my recent testing, I've found that DirectX11 allows me to browse every menu at 60FPS. (Without the hires textures ofcourse).
You can read more about that here.
@Manaplayer - I've never had an issue with menus. I'm using OpenGL over here. Perhaps it's a specific issue with the D3D9 backend? Can't download your settings atm, so I can't tell if that's what you're using. I do notice that my GPU gets more active on menus, but it's never stuttered for me.
