If i were about to get an i7 2600k 3.4ghz, what mobo would you recommend to overclock it to 4ghz+? anything that has Z77 in it?

First thing : 2600k is a good choice too.
And yes go for a Z77 (Asus for example)

I think I'd go for i5 3570k since I won't be upgrading at least in the next 2 years.
Hmm, Asus Z77 mobos are a bit expensive for me :/
ASRock Z77 Pro4-M is quite cheap.. It should do fine for overclocking, right?

Yes it will do fine. But keep in mind that that's a micro-ATX motherboard.
The motherboard admin has recommended is also a good choice, and cheaper.
