Dolphin, the GameCube and Wii emulator - Forums

You still need a monster PC for LLE and there are games that work just fine with HLE.

2- Because some people can live with sound/music issues assuming they aren't unbearable.
3- Because dumping the needed files isn't technically possible for the guys that would like to do it.

Those are good reasons I guess and as I said I'm sorry for being arrogant
It's just that it was so many years I myself used HLE along with build r3972 so I have forgotten it completely.

That far? When I started playing on Dolphin I was using 2.0 mainly. I was reluctant to use revisions. I didn't change any settings. I thought HLE would be enough for most games. And I played on my laptop above all.
Then I gradully got familiarized with the emulator and wanted to improve the performance. I logically came to use LLE at this time.
Another occasion for me to say how excellent is Dolphin

Yeah it's quite amazing actually. I lost my Dolphin "virginity" with r3972 and Wind Waker.

Back in 2009 I bought a new computer and wanted to start experiment with PS2 and GameCube emulation. At that that time the only few games I had a chance to play were Super Mario Sunshine, Wind Waker, Metroid Prime, Luigi's Mansion and Super Smash Bros. Melee.
It was enough for the moment as I knew many of the other games I had still didn't worked that great at that time so I went safe with only those games and decided to wait.

In 2010, 2.0 came and I dumped more and more games and LLE came in the picture then I used that until 3.0 and today I play most of my GameCube and Wii collection beautifully.

So for me, yep another occasion to say how excellent Dolphin is.

The first game I played on Dolphin was Wind Waker too. And FFX was the first one on PCSX2

I started to use emulators when I started to move more and more for my job. The possibility to play my console games on my laptop was a real discovery.

I got a lot of GC games. Never imagined I could play them like this when I bought them

Isn't it weird that Wind Waker was the first game we booted up? I have played it to death on the GameCube and yet this game was the game that I was most eager to play with in Dolphin.
Then it was Super Mario Sunshine, Metroid Prime, Luigi's Mansion and Super Smash Bros. Melee

Quite fascinating how good the memory is.

As for emulators in general I started back in 1999 with Nesticle, the fact is that a friend of mine was the inspiring part to it. He showed me how he dumped his GameBoy carts and played them on a flash cartridge.
Then I did some background research and acquired a dumper for the NES and when my first dumped game booted up in Nesticle I almost got a boner and I have been addicted to emulation ever since.

But it looks like those days are soon to be over, systems being more and more complex and harder to emulate.

Wind Waker was one of the first games I got for my GC.
I was curious to see what it would look like on a computer. Super Mario Sunshine and Metroid Prime(s) followed.

A friend introduced me to emulation too. He used a Genesis emulator. It looked amazing. But I didn't get hooked at that time. Emulation really interested me when my brother fell into it. He showed me everything I had to know (or almost everything ). I thank him for that
