IMO, setting it up is painful, the lack of improvements gained from revisions afterward, the lack of some special moves (or specifical as LordVador apparently likes to say), and the obnoxious Config for each game is too much to deal with to not even get the experience you should have gotten with the game. That's my opinion though.
I think the controls just need a little getting used to. In SS i experimented with each button until i found the best config, i eased through the bird race, i'm still on the 1st temple so i cant say whether its good enough to finish the game with

It works. I tried them. We can't say it doesn't work. BUT some moves, some specifical actions, some parts of the game are really tedious and difficult to reproduct with a fake Wiimote. It's a true challenge to progress in the game.
That's why you should definitively play Zelda SS with a real Wiimote
I know this is an old thread, but has there been any progress on getting the wii motion adapter working? I read on this website
http://www.mobiledataup.com/dolphin-wii-motion-plus/ That there is no intention of making the addon motion plus adapter working???!?

We were talking about
emulated Motion Plus (with a gamepad or a keyboard). Real Motion Plus, with the add-on or built-in, works just fine
I know this thread is very old but I just wanted to know, can I play Skyward Sword with a plain and regular wiimote? Or do I need to have a wiimote with motion plus?

You need the WiiMotion Plus. IIRC, the game won't even let you continue past one of the initial screens if you try and use a regular Wiimote.
You could always buy the motion+ extension (I recommend it because then you don't need the toshiba bluetooth stack :3)

I rectified that for you

I don't need it, so ha :p
