My laptop reached TJMax waaaaaaay faster than 10 min. I got there in about 15-30 seconds.

Maybe I'm just special tho.

Is there anything I could do about that that wouldn't involve actually modifying the laptop?
@Axxer
So what's your laptop idle temp ?

The OEM /stock thermal compound are usually bad
Buy aftermarket thermal compound and reapply it
I suggest IC Diamond 7 . It's expensive but it's better than Arctic MX4
OS X: ~30-40C
Windows: ~40-50C

@Pacoheadly just buy a gaming notebook if you want to actually play Dolphin well on it.

Never taken apart a laptop before, only desktops and a PS3, I'll have to consider it. Would changing the thermal compound make that much of a difference?

The problem with that is that I want to be able to play modern PC games as well, and I don't know where else I will be able to find a deal like this, my budget probably can't go higher than $1000.
...a gaming notebook would only be better for PC games.

Look at Sager. They seem to have cheap enough gaming notebooks/laptops.

I know, the price is the issue. Also, isn't the GPU not as important as the CPU for Dolphin? That is kind of why I mentioned that. I'll look them up.

Upgrade the CPU a Rick and you should have an excellent gaming laptop for $1000

I'll have to consider it then. So this would make sure there was no overheating problem, I would be good to go with Dolphin?
Yeah , that Sager gaming laptop is good , Nvidia GT 650M GDDR5 performance is very close to GTX 660M
Select IC Diamond Thermal Compound option and you're good to go
