I was just testing New Super Mario Bros. and noticed an issue. Since I wanted full effect I enabled EFB to Ram w/ cache and idle skipping (since the option mentions speedup with it enabled). Speed was great except with the EFB -> Ram cache enabled coins don't spin and boxes don't animate. So I disabled EFB -> Ram cache and I lost 20 FPS.

However I tested some more and disabled idle skipping which brought me back to full speed with EFB -> Ram w/out cache enabled, all bells and whistles working. :/

I am not sure if this is a bug or if that's intended but I wanted to report it in case something can be done.
So let me get this straight:

1. Idle Skipping + EFB->RAM + Cache = no spinning coins, full speed
2. Idle Skipping + EFB->RAM + No cache = spinning coins, drastic sped drop
3. No idle skipping + EFB->RAM + No cache = spinning coins, full speed

Is this correct?
I doubt it's a bug. Why it works is a mystery but since we don't really know what the game is trying to do this kind of stuff tends to happen.

Yes, that is correct.

That's strange man.
Well this is weird..

When I run the game sometimes it will be slow with EFB -> Ram, on the next run it could run full speed without changing anything. Everything still works regardless of whether the game runs fast or slow. o_O
Please tell me you don't have the settings open while you're running the game.

No, I do not have any settings open while playing nor did I open the settings while playing.

Unrelated but I noticed projection issues still aren't fixed. RE: Code Veronica still broken, Sonic & Black Knight and Sonic Unleashed still don't work without a projection hack in DX9 at least.

It still is indeed
I don't know why but enabling OpenCL makes the game run full speed with EFB -> Ram, although there are some occasional drops that last a second or two.
