Quote:already figured out the problem has to do with the ram memory timing. the timing for this ram is 5-5-5-18 @1.8v

using this timing and overclocking to 3.6ghz works stable, good temps, and correct clock speed in cpuz. but Dolphin runs really slow

using Auto timings in bios I think it's 5-6-6-18 or something like that makes the overclock crash and reset my computer but dolphin runs fast.

That makes absolutely no sense. These memory timings should have absolutely zero impact on your performance. Also higher timings should make the memory MORE stable, not less stable. Something else is wrong with your system.

You're right it doesn't make sense but that's what's happening. I give up on this system and I'm gonna upgrade.

*Update*
I already picked up a new Motherboard today Asus P8Z77-V LK for $109.99

Just gotta pickup that i5 3750K CPU I been looking at and get some new ram and I'll be good to go. I was jealous of you guys and your Ivy Bridge CPUs and Z77 chipset mobos lol

This thread can now die since I'm not gonna waste my time with this old system anymore. I appreciate all the suggestions and help in the thread though.
