You're welcome. I can't stand the whole mentality behind Mac vs. PC, a Mac is still a PC and when you get one, you're paying for the brand.
Thank you; that is the closest thing to an answer I have gotten here.
The battery life and thickness are an issue still but that is much closer to what I am looking for. I may consider buying one of those eventually.

Happier than before, certainly, but you have to admit the battery life and casing aren't as good as the retina pro's. The battery life is still great, though (from what I have read, about 5:49 idle). The thinner and lighter body appears to be more difficult to find.
I'll keep looking at that brand. They may be the answer. I built the 9150 with basically the same specs as the retina pro (better processor by 100 MHz and a better GPU; equal SSD). It came out to $1579. Not the battery life or portability I was hoping for, but it is definitely equal (better actually) specs-wise.
EDIT:

Lol, I guess.
I just posted that link in hopes of at least trying to diffuse the animosity, I guess it worked...

Generally giving adequate answers does a lot of work toward defusing animosity. Those laptops really are monstrously powerful. There wer a couple of things that made me do a double take (like paying an extra $60 for endurance that your screen would t have dead pixels) but that's exactly what I was looking for (or at least extremely close).
I'm amazed you didn't find some irrational fault with those. I was expecting a further argument. Oh well, it shouldn't be too long until a new apple user shows up to tell everyone how glorious and perfect their latest macbook is and begin rationalizing the insane cost that they payed for it. Another few months maybe.....I'll be here....waiting.

I'm not an irrational person, NV. Those laptops have great specs. They exceed the retina pro in some ways and fall short in others (mostly asthetic, but also battery life and screen). At this point it's basically preference as to whether you travel a lot with your computer or not IMO. The pro is more portable than the sager, while the sager is more powerful an costs about $700 less (depending on various configurations and such). The screen, battery life, and build may be worth the $700 or it may not. That is just preference.
It's good that Apple has these die-hard fans willing to waste a lot more money on something that they can get at half the price elsewhere. Apple would probably be broke by now otherwise. Apple thanks you for their profits.

Ugh, not the whole "why Apple is better than every single laptop in the world" discussion, so I won't even begin. I have numerous sources to backup my claim, but I'm not going to do it here. Nevertheless, I'm glad that Axxer is narrowing towards his final choice in getting a laptop
