Dolphin, the GameCube and Wii emulator - Forums

For instance one is in all caps and was just wondering if I could edit them, I right clicked on the game and went to proprieties and edit config but it did not change over in the dolphin menu.

You could probably use a hex editor if you just wanted to set some letters in lowercase. If you don't know where to look, the values are probably stored as plain-text somewhere. The string should be clear if the hex editor shows you the corresponding ASCII characters. Alternatively, WiiScrubber (and whatever the equivalent for GC games is, I've forgotten it atm) might be able to do what you want.

I don't know what you're talking about, what hex editor do I use?

There are plenty of hex editors in the web, e.g. HexEdit.

The GC equivalent of Wii Scrubber is GCTool.

Most decent hex editors let you view ASCII (e.g. characters you can read, most of them anyway) along with the hex values. All you have to do is have the program search for the string you want to change, and then change the hex bytes. This would probably work, but I'd advise 1) making a copy first, and 2) using tools like WiiScrubber or GCTool first. This is an example of where I would start editing if I wanted to change the description for Super Mario Sunshine :

That doesn't really matter

GCTool hasn't been updated in years, so it's not like you'd do well to wait for the author to improve it beyond a beta state anyway. It won't hurt to try it, especially if you've made appropriate backups.

@DefenderX - Haven't used Kubuntu in a long time. Slackware is where it's at I am fond of KDE though.
