It's not like DefenderX was using the word incorrectly, it just happens to have multiple denotations. It refers to both the physical desktop (the machine and the furniture), and it also refers to the metaphor of the desktop as it relates to having files and folders on our screens. The "desktop" also means specific folder locations in some operating systems (Windows XP, Linux but that depends on your desktop environment) that are usually always displayed. That's not to say the word "desktop" is unambiguous, but fwiw we already have a thread discussing the first two I mentioned, so any confusion is unwarranted :p

Here's my desktop. Had the same My Little Pony background forever, just about. Changed it recently. This one speaks "autumn" to me (even though it's Xenoblade's main screen done to look like "dawn"). It's the season where stuff starts changing, new school year (for you guys at least ) new people to meet, the weather changes, American Football season kicks in (I don't watch sports though, at all), gas prices go up, an election nears, etc, etc. Only pics from my main rig, my laptop is... nsfw. I'm half-wise kidding of course Half-wise...

I think you've been on these forums long enough to know that I am VERY anal about using correct terminology regardless of what common use dictates.

But his terminology was correct, as far as the "desktop" describes the type of pictures he wants in this thread. The exactitude and specificity of that said terminology left much to be desired on his part, however.

Yep, thats because of the Retina Display. (2880x1800). And yeah, this girl is my type of women. She is named Annely Gerritsen (don't google the name xD)

I dunno, I just didn't think you we're the kind of guy to obsess over that kinda thing. In my belief system it's wrong, but you can do whatever you want.

It was just sort of a snap back to reality that no, DefenderX isn't perfect, no matter how nice he is on the forums to everyone. Your still a nice guy, I just wasn't expecting that as your background...

Yeah, I guess, no one was expecting a girl as background. Maybe a screenshot of Dolphin or an Apple logo

Looks similar, but it's not "dirty content"
