The internet has come a really long way since its introduction. I have cable TV at home and used to watch all my favorite programs on it but it seems all the shows usually have some website where you can stream and watch it online, which leads one to think, is there any need for TV anymore these days? There has always been a power struggle between the TV and internet but clearly the internet is winning, especially with the introduction of handheld devices that allow you to stream videos not to even talk about a desktop or a laptop's portability. Restrictions such as program scheduling are non-existent online as you can watch what you want, when you want it. Most of the time when i use my TV is usually to play my console games but with things such as emulators this also sees us moving to our computers. What about you guys? do you tend to stream videos online or do you still stick to your TV in the living room?
Internet, For me, the TV lost it's merit :/
Internet Cool

Usually , i watch unboxing video , PV on youtube / nico nico douga -> Yeah , internet all the way
Depends which videos. For a "quick" video, music clips, funny (or hot Big Grin) things yeah Internet. But for a good movie I'm gonna be old-school once more. A large screen, a couch, a good beer... Happiness Wink

Yeah one of the few exceptions out there but we also have large enough monitors out there, you could also connect a 50' TV via a HDMI, coupled with a blu-ray DVD-ROM on the computer and a some cold beer.... more Happiness Wink
The trick is to get a PVR box, and record anything you plan to watch. The problem with this for me is that I stream everything I watch to my iPod, and I've not seen a PVR which you could use as a server to do this from. If I could control it and playback via my iPod, it would be a much better solution for me.
And then there are always HTPC's :3
