VERY nice. It is 20-30 FPS higher than my 2500K @ 4.5
About how much % improvement from Sandy Bridge to Haswell?

If I did do the math correctly...

moosehunter's haswell 4.2ghz:
111
85
131

cole.roddy's sandy 5.3ghz:
109
84
129

GHz for sandy fps about equivalent to haswell: 5.3ghz vs 4.1ghz - 29% increase

Right?

yup and a slightly over 19% over my 5ghz ivy scores with my overclocked ram. http://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-the-legend-of-zelda-the-wind-waker-cpu-benchmark?pid=272530#pid272530
where i got
111-84-132

haswell is a beast for emulation.
Nice, thanks to all Haswell owners for posting results. I really appreciate it!

That 29% improvement... has overclocking potential...

And I heard it can do perfect 23.976 playback. Maybe not important to you but that's really good news for videophiles like me.

Oh god, I feel the desire to break my 50% faster requirement for my next CPU and get Haswell instead Tongue
50% will be a long time from now for normal. emulation im thinkin probably skylake. ddr4 should be mainstreamin then too

i honestly wont upgrade till skylake unless dolphin' s accurcy require shoots through the roof alot. which even a 5ghz ivy blows

All Haswell owners? It's just been me so far. I'm interested in what others get as well. I upgraded from an i5-650 @ 3.2 GHz, and it's a really nice upgrade. Over 100% faster in Dolphin thanks to overclocking. When I get my cooler in, it'll get even better.

Old CPU:
http://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-the-legend-of-zelda-the-wind-waker-cpu-benchmark?pid=274068#pid274068

FPS/VPS/Speed
1: 51/102/170%
2: 42/84/140%
3: 60/120/200%

New CPU:
FPS/VPS/Speed
1: 111/221/368%
2: 85/171/285%
3: 131/262/436%

Would RAM speed have much effect on Dolphin?
is 4.2 your limit? also what kind of voltages did you need for 4.2 ?

also what was your temps like?

Temps were high, ~80C with Dolphin, because I'm using the stock cooler. I wouldn't dare stress it with anything more than dolphin at that clock, it would probably throttle and/or shut down. VCore was around 1.19.
yeah get an aftermarket heatsink pronto. hyper212 evo would do the trick. not sure if thats a good vcore for haswell. btw what was your stock voltage at if you remember ?

Hmm I guess you're right, I should wait. 2600k is still strong today lol
