Wow, looks legit man Smile I'll congratulate you now on your purchase then. I know this is supposed to be about LoZ:WW, but have you tried other demanding games without OCing, such as The Last Story or F-Zero GX?

I can now run The Last Story full speed @ 4.0GHz =D

Honestly, I thought Haswell kinda sucked until I got mine and tried out Dolphin on it. Now I think it's alright. Nothing spectacular though.

Edit: Mario Galaxy at fullspeed too with LLE.
I think I should wait for i5 4670k results ...before I jump out of the window and say hooray Tongue
Latest possible date of i5 4670K results from me: Sun 16th. May be as early as Thur 13th. Depends on how long after my exams finish I'm allowed to do stuff (especially as some idiot somewhere decided college (in UK so college != university) should start up again before my exams finish, so I won't get a massive block of free time).
moosehunter: Please post all three of the benchmark screenshots.

They're already all posted:

Unless you're referring to my test @ 4.0GHz. That one wasn't meant to be a "serious" benchmark. It was just posted to get an idea of how fast it would be with a slight overclock.
wow a stock 4770k @ 3.7 roughly benchs the same as my 3570k @ 4.5ghz.

jesus dolphin must love haswell chips. thats a bigger jump than i expected... i was expecting like a 4.0 = 4.5 not that big of a jump

and his 4.0 test save 1 is similar to my 5ghz score...

must be all those optimizations and instruction sets.
AnyOldName3 Wrote:I realised the tests I did were without PAL60 turned on, so the numbers aren't necessarily what we want. Does this option matter for a GC game, or are my current tests adequate?

It shouldn't change the fps, just the gamespeed. So you should be fine.

Music to my ears. I will be going haswell i5 4670K within the next month or so.
I'll finally get to play the galaxy games right after so many false starts.
Wii got stolen when I was halfway through playing it. The Q6600 couldn't handle it, nor can my current i7 920. It looks like Haswell is my magic bullet.
