Alright. I'll work it so that everyone can participate. Lets see which game we'll use first and then we'll sort it out. I'll post more details soon.
This sounds great SS. Are you going to use a .dtm file? IIRC, aren't those files that record input and play it back so that a person can watch what you did move for move (sort of like SSBB "movies")? That might be good for this sort of thing, if extreme accuracy is what you're aiming for. At any rate, I like it. WW is my choice. I have the PAL version (para jugar en espaƱol), so perhaps I could convert the save if necessary.
If everyone can participate, what about OS X and Linux users? I know 3.0 builds are available for OS X, but I could provide binaries for 3.0 on Linux (no frills, no enhancements, just compiling the code as-is) so that benching could remain consistent for that OS. I'm thinking the results would be split up across OSes rather than grouping them together. Perhaps there should even be a separate thread for each. Each thread could also specify the default settings to use (since Linux and OS X have to use OGL, while Windows is free to use DX9). There aren't many Dolphin users who don't use Windows, so if our results are added to one main benchmarking thread, we could always be a footnote or something :p
Yeah for comparison purposes it would be a good idea to include linux and macosx results in separate data sheets like shonumi said.
A .dtm would improve accuracy but then you would need a frame counting software to calculate average fps over a period of time. And most if not all of those are proprietary commercial software, like fraps.

I imagine something like this could be added to Dolphin itself. I was just thinking about trying to hack it the other week. I know JPCSP does this by default; it's pretty handy actually. Such a feature wouldn't help with this benchmark, since it's strictly 3.0, but might help with future ones. Just thinking outloud :3
I'm guessing Zelda for the GC then? just for clarification.
I r only have deh wii one D: (wide screen :3)

John Peterson was working on such a feature back in January.
He has shared the source and build
here.
Perhaps someone could build upon that? (if needed)

Says who?
The feature won't help with this benchmark since we've decided on using 3.0, which doesn't include something to average the FPS over a given amount of time. We would have to add the feature to the 3.0 code. I don't think SS is too keen on using anything but the official 3.0 release for this.
I actually was thinking of using 3.0, but I don't know how you knew that. I never mentioned anything about any particular build yet.
Also, I kinda figured we'd have 10 votes for one game by now, I guess we wait some more.
