Hey guys,

I have the following laptop, and am wondering/hoping if Xenoblade Chronicles will run well at 1080p (hopefully with texture mods as well). I also have IC Diamond Thermal Paste on both the CPU and GPU to help with overheating. My laptop also has two fans (1 for the CPU, 1 for the GPU), and I have an U3 Cooler Master to help out as well.

CPU: Intel Core i7-3610 (2.3-3.3 Ghz)
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX680M 4GB GDDR5
RAM: 8GB DDR3 1333Mhz
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

Any information would be very much appreciated I'm actually on the fence on selling or keeping my laptop, and whether or not it can run Xenoblade via Dolphin is one of the things I'm taking into consideration. I just bought this and played it last night, and really can't stomach the awful graphics...

It should run it fine as long as the cpu stays cool enough for turboboost to kick in.

That's encouraging, thanks! Would it make a large enough difference if I upgraded my CPU to an i7-3710 (2.6-3.6 ghz)? I may have to send my laptop back to get overclock anyway, so perhaps I'll also get a better CPU..just stinks that I have pay over $200 to do all this...

Well, indeed, 300Mhz more can make a difference. But as NV said, the CPU should not overheat or else the CPU will throttle the clock speed -> slowdowns.

I also have a late 2009 iMac with the following specs. Would this be any better? LOL here the problem is the opposite - better CPU, awful GPU:

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo processor @ 3.06 GHz
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce 9400M (shared with main memory)
RAM: 4GB of 1066MHz DDR3 SDRAM

This CPU is not as good as the Core i7-3610QM (Ivy Bridge has the better architecture).

Gotcha. Well, I just got off the phone with my laptop reseller, and I think it would cost me several hundred dollars to get an overclocked CPU.

That being said - given that my laptop has a dedicated fan for the CPU, thermal compound paste, and I'm using a U3 cooler on top of that, do you believe I have a decent change for fairly good performance? Someone on this forum had the same CPU as mine (which can't be overclocked), and he said he could do it.
