Since many people like to talk about unrelated Triforce games in official Triforce game threads, I'll create this thread for any kind of Triforce conversation that you want to have (within the rules). I also understand that many people do not have the required post count to create a thread in this section, so I'll do it for you.
I just ask that if you have something to post about a game that has an official game thread, post it there, not here. Anything else Triforce related can go here.
To get the discussion going F-Zero Ax boots with errors
yes, FZ AX does not work with cardreader error. but this is only a consequence of the main problem: at the moment almost all Triforce emulation code is kind of "we do not know what it is and how it works, so just return data the game code is waiting for" and/or patching unemulated hardware (cardreaders, cameras, etc)
imho the main goal must be real emulation of hardware instead of just patching-out unknown things.
as you may know, from logical point of view, Triforce is just a Gamecube with 3 additional devices:
SI BaseBoard: IO-Host for JVS-board(s), motor-boards, card-readers, etc
EXI BaseBoard: unknown, I think it must be NVRAM-access or/and networking related device.
DI MediaBoard: DIMM board access (or DIMM board itself in the case of Type3 board)
so there is three parts of puzzle.
currently we only have firmware of Type-3 Media-board (thanks to tmbinc's great work), but I'm totally unfamiliar with CPU architecture (iirc NEC V850 series), so that reverse-engeneering task not the first one in my TODO-list, but if someone wants to play with it - PM me here or at IRC.
but what about Base-board side ? on the PCB you can see HD64F2676 chip, this is Hitachi H8S-series MCU with 256Kb internal flash, and I almost 100% sure it is works as SI-device (and possibly as EXI too).
so the first thing we do, must be dumping it's internal flash, then reverse and HLE it, and/or LLE it if one day Dolphin will have H8 CPU core.
I've already asked "Dumping Union" of MAME-team about this task, and lucky their's programmer supports H8S/2676 MCU, but they do not have adaptor for QFP144 chip package, the price of it not cheap - $200+, so if someone can/wants help - contact DumpingUnion at mameworld.info.
Wind waker has a lot of problems .-.
Err... Wind Waker is a GC game, not a Triforce game.
Next time, pls write in the official support thread of TLoZ WW and describe your problem(s) exactly. Thanks.
But it is called Triforce! It must have something to do with Zelda!
/sarcasm
Anyway, to get the discussion back on topic, I'm curious about something. Which Triforce games have been tested as working? I know Mario Kart GP2 and F-Zero AX, obviously, but there are like 15 Triforce games.
AFAIK Virtua Striker is playable too. F-Zero is not but I'd like to see that one day

Basically Mario kart and virtua striker ...
Are there any plans to get Mario Kart Arcade GP 1 running, as it seems to be possible on a real Wii using QuadForce? Why not support emulation of this SD-card based method as it shouldnt be too much work to get it running this way?
crediar is the only person with the code to make MKGP1 work in Dolphin. You'll have to ask him.
