Was hoping I could run every game decently on this build, eye candy doesn't really matter to me. I would have to pay Frys $70 to build this for me, so if anyone knows of any similar prebuilts I can order that would be awesome.

Budget: $700
Intel Core i5-2400 3.1GHz Quad-Core Processor
Biostar H61MGC Micro ATX LGA1155 Motherboard
MSI GeForce GTX 560 Ti 448 1.25GB Video Card
Antec 550W ATX12V Power Supply

I'm also hoping to run PCSX2 if that matters (Not sure if its more demanding).

Thanks!

Most games will run well . However , demanding games like SMG+LLE , The Last Story ...require i5 3570k @ 4.2GHz + Z77 mobo to run fullspeed
Btw , you may need to change 560TI to 550TI to save more buck for CPU and mobo
If you don't have budget for i5 3570k then i5 3450 @ 3.9GHz + Asrock Z77 should be much better than i5 2400 + H61 mobo

Sorry, do you mean overclocked it can reach 3.9 Ghz? It says 3.1 on Pcpartpicker. Also, does it not matter which of these video cards I choose: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 550 Ti 1GB or the Asus GeForce GTX 550 Ti 1GB
Yes , Asrock Z77 has "No-K OC" Function
Usually , only "K" CPU is built for overclocking . For example : i5 2500k , i7 2600k , i5 3570k , i7 3770k ...
"No-K" is not . For Example : i5 2500 , i5 3570 , i5 3450 , i5 2400 ...
With that function , you can OC "No-K" CPU
Make sure you buy aftermarket cooling for overclocking
About GPU , both Gigabyte and Asus are good brands

If you are going to be playing pc games,I would stick to your original build, because you choose a very good gpu and 550 ti is crappy for newest pc games.
For pc games i5 2400+560 ti 448 is much much better then even 3570k overclocked + 550 ti

But,if you will only be playing emulators, then I agree with admin. Buy a weaker gpu to spare money for better cpu, because cpu is more important when playing emulators
Don't know what are you talking about . Nvidia GTX 550TI can play latest PC games just fine (med-high settings)
i5 2400 + H61 are no good . He won't be able to OC nor upgrade unless he replace H61 mobo
He can upgrade GPU later or just oc it

To sum up :
_Option 1 : 550Ti + i5 3570k @ 4.2GHz (*) -> All PC games run fine at 1080p med-high settings , most wii/GC/PS2 games run fullspeed (include those demanding games)
_Option 2 : 560Ti + i5 2400 (stock) -> All PC games run well , most Wii/GC/PS2 run fullspeed (not include those demanding games)

(*) Need decent cooling but this one + Arctic MX-4 will do

Edit : Option 1 will cost 800$ (include $70 for the PC builder)

Well you are agreing with me as far as I can see.
I also said 3570k is much better option for emulation.
Now,as for pc games, what do you mean by fine and well, thats a question.
You said fine is med-high at 1080p,if by well you meant very high/extreme settings at 1080p,then I agree with you Smile

I just dont see how very high/extreme settings are not much, much better then medium/high settings in pc games. Smile
Also keep in mind he is not buying just a 560ti,he is buying 560ti 448 which is closer to perfomance of a 570 then 560 ti
@OP Might add i5 3450(3rd gen) as option 3 . Athought the base clock - 3.1GHz is the same as i5 2400 (2nd gen) but i5 3450 is faster clock for clock ...
i5 2400 + Asrock Z77 mobo is ok as well . Anyway , just stay away from H61 mobo
@OP I'd go for option 2 if I were you.
That goes against the caption you have next to sonic. For emulation, the 3570K option is faster. Of course, the OP could always pay just a bit more to get the 560 or 560 Ti, instead of the 550 Ti or 560 Ti 480.
