So I was curious about some things, and two of them seemed to be important.

1. When it comes to the speeding up of a game, I find it INCREDIBLY tedious to have to exit fullscreen, go to config, and set "Auto" to "Off" under Frame Limit, and then go back and reset it to simply make my chao hurry the **** up with their evolutions. I saw the hotkey function for Frame Advance, but that isn't what I was looking for. If you know what I mean and could offer some help, I would appreciate it.

2. Is there a way to stabilize FPS? Or the best config for best graphics possible with most stable FPS possible? I have a great PC, and I can run it better with Frame Limit "Off" than I can with it at "Auto". I can even run the game at max graphical settings. So is there a way? Thanks guys.

EDIT: Oh, and if someone could tell me what VPS is, I would appreciate it.

Specs:
Windows 7 64-bit Ultimate Edition
Intel Core i7-2600K CPU @ 3.4 GHz, 4.0 with Turbo Boost.
8.0 GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 Ti
2 TB Hard Drive

I'm using Dolphin Version: Dolphin 3.0-735-dirty
The download I used was for the latest Windows 7 64-bit Dolphin version at the time.
1) there is no speed up button and no one wants to add it. Most people can't even run All games at full speed anyway so it would be pointless and a waste of time for the devs.
2) Unless you post your exact specs under your profile/in your post (that means CPU/GPU model numbers not just Intel and nVidia), we can't help you figure out what's wrong with you frame rate speed or offer suggestions for config. I think what you are asking for though is to set the frame limit to a higher number - like 60, 120, etc.
Fwiw, I think the "speed up" button you're looking for is the tab key. That temporarily disables the frame limit, and it should let the game run as fast as your system will let it, as long as the tab key is held down.

I haven't had any problems with my FPS being unstable, just the usual drops when playing demanding games. You should probably use audio throttling if you're looking for the most accurate way to control your FPS. In newer Dolphin revisions, this option has been moved to the Framelimit options in Options->Configure. Additionally, it's more accurate to uncheck the box "Limit by FPS". Doing this will, iirc, limit it by the VPS instead.

As for what the VPS is, this thread is probably the type of reading you're after.

Thank you SO MUCH! Ironically, I actually checked "Limit FPS" and it's more stable ._. I'll see what I can do with Audio throttle, maybe it will work even better.

I was actually asking what "VPS" stood for, but thanks for that helpful page ^-^.

Is there anywhere I can find out what FPS/VPS Sonic Adventure 2 Battle is supposed to be played at? I know certain games are supposed to be played at 30 FPS instead of 60, so this could be a possible problem.

Oh I forgot to ask, is there a way to remap the speedup to something other than the "Tab" key? Is there also a way to toggle it instead of have it be manual?
Well, I said unchecking Limit by FPS would be more accurate in terms of what's being emulated, not necessarily more stable Big Grin Anyway, for the NTSC versions of SA2, you should be looking at 60 FPS/VPS, even in menus I think. PAL versions should be 50 FPS/VPS. Only certain games run at 30 FPS and 25 FPS (NTSC and PAL respectively). There's a list of some of them here. It's not complete, so if you find some games that aren't on the list, feel free to add them.

As far as I know, I don't think you can change the hotkey in Dolphin to disable framelimiting, but I could be wrong.

Oh I know, I was just saying that it did become more stable. Wierdly enough ._.

Thanks again, and I'm using the PAL version at 60 FPS, could this also be a cause of instability? Should I limit the FPS to 50?
Yeah, 60 FPS is more than fullspeed for the PAL version of SA2. You could set the Framelimit to 50, but it's still probably better to set it to Audio for audio throttling. Though I suppose you ought to try both to see which (if either one) is the better option for you.

Awesome, thanks so much for your assistance.
All PAL games can be run at 30/60FPS without being above full speed if 'Use EuRGB60 Mode (PAL60)' is selected, so don't adjust the framelimit without adjusting this setting too.

I thought EuRGB60 was only for Wii games, hence the option's location on the Wii tab in Options->Configure. It's not like I have any suitable PAL GC games on hand to try it though.
