As far as I know, a real Pal-WII will play PAL-Games at 768 x 576 @ 50Hz and a NTSC-WII will play NTSC-Games at 640 x 480 @ 60Hz.

But what about the Dolphin Emulator: will I get a better picture quality/higher screen resolution with PAL-Games as well or is there no difference between PAL- and NTSC Games on Dolphin?
No difference.

The internal resolution of the GC/Wii is 640 x 528. This is the resolution that the game is rendered at whether it is a PAL or an NTSC game. A PAL GC/Wii will then stretch that to 768 x 576 while an NTSC GC/Wii will stretch it to 640 x 480 before output.

Dolphin stretches it to whatever you set your fullscreen or windowed resolution to be. It doesn't use the PAL or NTSC resolutions as output unless you specify it yourself.
Thanks for the fast reply.

Fwiw, Dolphin does preserve the PAL/NTSC aspect ratio unless you don't have that set to "auto".
