So is it worse?
Why on earth would it be worse? XD
I have a severe lack of knowledge when it comes to computer hardware. Call me ignorant if you will, heh.

Nope, it's not worse
The Core i7-3770k is just more expensive cause it has HyperThreading (Dolphin won't benefit from HT) and a bigger L3 cache. For people, how do video encoding/decoding etc., the i7-3770k is the better choice. For the other people, the i5-3570k is the best choice

Thankies~ Excuse the necro, but I got the i7-3770k, how much overclock does it need to run most Dolphin games perfectly? in GHz.

Stock speed should be sufficient for most games.
To maintain a good framerate for certain games like SMG1&2, The Last Story, etc, you'll have to overclock your CPU to 4.2GHz or so atleast.
note: this doesn't guarantee 100% at all times either. It's just a general recommendation.
Make sure you have a third-party cooler. Do not overclock with the stock cooler.
