Hello there; my newbie question is:
How can I update Dolphin without losing savegames/dumps/system files AND without screwing with new configurations possibility?

Can I just overwrite the old dolphin folder, or in that way I can have problems with new plugins and old config files?
Just replace the old Dolphin.exe with the new one. That's it.
Only the .exe? There won't be any other update for the others files?

Also, can I have more dolphin.exe on the same folder (to have more builds with same savegames ecc.) ?
Only the *.exe.

Yep, just rename the other Dolphin.exe in Dolphin2.exe (or something like that)
Thanks, that was a helpful info!
you're welcome Smile
Oh wait; but I still have to have differents configurations according to the game I want to play; i.e. xenoblade asks a certain config, different from the one used from mhtri, and the local game settings are not enough to cover the problem.

Is there a way to solve this problem? Like presets configurations?

WTF?! Thats all? I always copied memcards, the LLE-necessary files, Controller-profiles to a new build.

That would save a lot of time. Thank you.

Although the folder-structure of for example 3.0 seems to be slightly different from the new ones (some folders have vanished, rearranged eca.).

Anyway, a great tipp, thank you again.
You can look in the game.ini of the particular game. Here ya go -> http://forums.dolphin-emu.org/showthread.php?tid=18422&highlight=ini+file

haha, you're welcome Cool but note, this only works (afaik) with the newer -dirty Dolphin builds.
That was what I was searching for, thanks again =)
