Hello guys,

I am new to this forum and to the dolphin generally! Please spend some time to solve my questions:

I am fan of resident evil series and I would like to play them on my laptop. Recently after google search I found this forum and started to read and try! I found lots of info and solved many problems via reading other people's posts. It helped me configure dolphin and experience the best quality for my HW! Thank very much for this!!!

Let's go to my problem...

I currently play Resident Evil REmake with dolphin 3.0 (which is the best for this game). I just have some small problems with the sound but it is playable! It runs on 30fps - 100% speed (60fps on opening doors) and generally I am very satisfied of the game and the emulator!!!

Today I tried to load Resident Evil Zero but I do not experience the same quality! It runs maximum on 23fps and it is slow! I have tried many revisions with the same or worse results... Same settings, same HW! Bothe games for GameCube.

1st Question: is Resident Evil Zero more demanding as a game comparing to REmake?
2nd Question: what you propose as the best settings for RE0? (I know that there are many recommendations but none of the ones I've read doesn't solve the problem).
3rd Question: if I try the wii version of RE0 is it going to be any better? (I've tried so far only the GC version).

As I said before I run it on a laptop Lenovo Ideapad Z570 with the following specs:

http://www.cnet.com/laptops/lenovo-ideapad-z570-1024/4507-3121_7-34668990.html

I know that my graphics card is not that good but REmake runs perfectly so I cannot understand why RE0 isn't!

Thank you in advance for your reply!
1nd - It seems so, yeah.
2nd - The settings for best speed, if you want more speed -> http://forums.dolphin-emu.org/showthread.php?tid=23618
3rd - I don't think, that the Wii version would run better. Actually, it should run even worse. (Wii emulation is a little bit more demanding than gc emulation in most cases)
I would like to thank you for your reply... i have checked the settings and i can say that with these settings i can get it to work at 23fps! if i touch anything other than these settings it drops to 19fps or even worse!

I will try it on a better computer with i5 and a better GPU with deticated memory!

Ive tested REZero (GC-US) yesterday and had the same problem, no matter what videobackend. Even putting out any enhancement (like higher IR, AA ...) wont help. Tried 3.0, 3.0-578 and the newest ... no success. HLE helps a bit, but!!! you can bear it only, if you dont know how the music should sound correctly. Many parts of the sounds are missing and i still had framerate-drops to 24 fps. I cant believe all the people who wrote "... runs perfect on my system..." in the Wiki.

Well i have an i5-2500k@4,2 Ghz and it wont help you.

But its the same as MGS TTS for me. I love Dolphin and many games i play only on the emulator. But i have no lust to play a good game like REZero with such problems.

I strongly recommend to play it on the original console. I have no problem with that Big Grin

Its a known issue:

At least here he wrotes, that he has better results with the Wii-Version. I cant confirm, cause i only own the GC-version.

Yes the game is PLAYABLE but not perfect.
As you said the best deal for this game and RE games in general (MGS too) is to play on the original system but I have to say I still had fun when I played them recently Smile
As i pointed out yesterday, REmake is now completely running without slowdowns (even in the saverooms) with the newest build (750) after activating "LLE on thread" and "acc. V-beam".

After the good results with "Zelda-TP" and "REmake" (did the devs change anything importand with "LLE on thread"?, ive never noticed such a speed-boost earlier?) I tested Zero again with this settings.

The framerate-drops and sound probs in Zero has dissapeared too! There are two good events to test it:

1) The first Rebecca-Zombie-encounter in the train (surrounded by three Zombies) and ...
2) the Cerberus-encounter after Edward crashes through the window.

No problems with this anymore, but there is one issue left, ive noticed in older builds too:

After activating "acc V-beam" (which is necessary to gain full-speed) the loading-times after entering a room (after a door-animation) has extended a lot. From 1 second to 3 or 5 seconds. Ive found no workaround for this until now. But at least the game runs fine now.

Wait just a sec...you tested in built 3.0 750? If I understand well there is a new buid out! In the download page I find the 739 as the last!

Where did you get the 750? Could you please post a link asi am on vacation and I didn't have time to search the entire forum!

Thank you very much for everything!
Take a look in the Development forum. -> http://forums.dolphin-emu.org/forumdisplay.php?fid=6

There are some people who compile Dolphin builds ( me too Cool )

Thank you my friend, with the above settings i have managed to run both games in full speed and i am ready to enjoy them once again in my computer! Thank you very much!!!!
