That lot comes to £85, so I probably could afford around £45/$70 more

In that case....
Get this processor instead.
Far faster than the e5700
and can play a lot more than just SA2B.

The motherboard and RAM are still fine though.
I currently have a GigaByte GA-G41MT-S2PT that has two DDR3 RAM slots, or is this mother board terrible?

Not terrible, just old.
And therefore, incompatible with what I just showed you.
Check if your RAM is DDR3.

Ok, Thanks for the help, I really appreciate it, I'll bookmark all those links you gave me, I'll probably order soon but till then I'll use the other PC.
I'll check the RAM tomorrow.
If it is DDR3, use it in the new PC, if not, just buy the new RAM.
Wow, it works like a dream on this one, I may move this PC back into my room and make it my main.

One more question, I have a run of the mill USB controller that I got from Game, could I configure it to work with dolphin?
