It will OC.

Non-K edition cpus have a limited multiplier of 4 higher than the turbo.
K edition cpus have a "unlimited" multiplier that goes up to 57 (5.7GHz).
X edition cpus (extreme edition) have a truly unlimited multiplier for crazy people that want to go higher than 5.7Ghz.

This is assuming that your motherboard chipset supports changing the core multiplier of course.
I've been reading and you can disable HT in i7 2600 in Bios to set it 4 cores 4 threads.
Why would you pay extra for a feature that you're going to disable?

What are the 2400, 2500, 2500K, and 2600 prices on your area?

(each 4 bs is 1 dollar)

Intel i5 2500 is 2.429 Bs avg
Intel i5 2500k is 2.550 Bs avg
Intel i7 2600 is 4.280 Bs avg

i7 is alot more expensive, also in the combo i'm talking about it comes with

Code:
Procesador Intel Core i7-2600
                      Sandy Bridge
                      3.4Ghz Quad-Core
                      (3.8GHz Turbo Boost)
                      8MB Cache
                      95W / 32nm
                      Video Integrado Intel
                      HD Graphics 2000

Tarjeta Madre  Chipset H61
                      Socket 1155
                      2 X DDR3 / 16GB Max
                      PCI-Express 16X
                      USB 2.0 / Serial ATA

     Disco Duro 500GB SATA
                      7200RPM

Memoria RAM 4GB DDR3 1333Mhz
                      PC3-10600

           DVDRW

              Case ATX Black

For 5.850 Bs. (Not discarding the 500 GB HDD and DVDRW which may reduce to price to around 5,100 Bs.)

There is also i5 3450 combo, mobo; H61MH, 4 gb ram ddr3 1333 mhz, with 19' monitor, for 6,564 bs. (it seems to be i5 2500 not 3450)
have to add there is also a one cheaper combo;

Biostar H61
I5 3450
4GB DDR3 1333 mhz
Case
500 GB HDD
DVD RW

for 4.999 BS. without HDD and DVDRW is 4350 bs (this one is cheaper one!)

"Bolivar Fuerte_"
Then you should convert the prices to US dollars for our convenience.

Intel i5 2500 is $564
Intel i5 2500k is $593
Intel i7 2600 is $995
-----------------

Combo Prices;

Intel Core i5 (It says it's 2500 and it also says it's 3450 waiting for answer...)
4 GB Ram DDR3 1333 Mhz
MB Biostar H61MH
Case Black LINKWORLD mAtx

for $1,245 (The price includes 500 GB HDD and DVDRW/24x / I've asked price without these items might be much cheaper)

-----------------

Intel Core i7 3770 3.4 ghz 3rd Gen
4 GB DDR3 1333 Mhz
Asrock H61M-DGS

for $1,548 (The price includes 500 GB HDD and DVDRW/24x / I've asked price without these items might be much cheaper)
Holy sh!t that's a lot, remember if you get a "k" CPU you'll need a "p" or "z" mobo to be able to OC properly Wink
