Sorry this is kinda late to help you, but the "Configure" button you were confused about in your first post was only for an emulated Wii Remote, not a real one. All that lets you do is map keyboard keys to Wiimote buttons.
Ah, well that does help assuage my confusion on that, cheers. That means that my existing Bluetooth that came in the new laptop is working good as gold and I can take this Rockfish adapter back. Excellent. Now I just need AAA batteries for my sensor bar and I'll be totally Wii'd up.
Sensor bar works brilliantly. Apart from being unable to use the Wii Home Menu due to NAND dump errors, (which I can't think of why I'd need to do on an emulator..) I have full functionality and everything runs crisply in 720p. 1080 is doable but seems to slow me down just enough to not make it worth doing. Cheers to everyone for your help and suggestions, and to the development team for this fantastic emulator.
