Just edited my previous post with the games i'm testing this with, these FPS drops occur in all the internal resolution options. This most definitely didn't happen before my PC restored itself. Used to be able to run in 3x native with no drops.

OK sorry I hadn't seen this.
One thing : if you were using 3.0 before the latest builds tend to be slower.
Otherwise yeah with that CPU you should try to ovetclock of course. If your performance doesn't improve you'll have to worry

Yeah back when it was working i had a different build of Dolphin for each game, they just seemed to work better that way. Will take sometime to find those exact builds again lol. According to this EasyTune 6 though i'm currently overclocked at 4.20GHz (was 3.50GHz before oc) yet i'm not noticing any improvements. So getting the feeling this EasyTune quick boost tuner isn't working.... gonna try and download some previous builds and see if the performance is any better.

Overclocking to 4.0GHz should be enough for a lot of games though
mcmmaster, stop with what you're doing. You're just downloading OC tools and randomly overclocking.
Don't do that.
And you shouldn't overclock these Sandy Bridges with the BLCK, you change the multiplier.
Now answer the questions you were asked:
Quote: Check your temps.
Use Realtemp and check what they are when you've run Dolphin for 5 mins or longer atleast.
Do you have a third party cooler seated on the CPU?
Got in contact with the site i ordered my PC from, seems they didn't overclock anything before sending it out so overclocking shouldn't be the fix. They just said to re-install the motherboard & graphics drivers from their websites which i've already done, still no changes. I've been trying many builds for the past few days but nothing runs at full speed anymore. I'm going mental here xD, Dolphin just doesn't seem to wanna work. Whats perhaps the most odd thing about this is the PC can handle x4 native in Dolphin, just it seems to run exactly like it would when running in 1x. At the same times FPS drops on both, even the same numbers as well.
Standard PC games & PCSX2 still work the same like they used to, i'm still able to play all my PC games in Ultra settings, and even PCSX2 works in 6x native so why Dolphins acting up sure has me hella confused.
Got a new graphics card now (GTX 680) and i've successfully overclocked my CPU to 4.5ghz. Seeing big improvements in PC games like Dark Souls & Arkham City... but Dolphin still seems to have stutters/drops in fps. Really starting to annoy me now lol, my specs are good enough to run it yet it can't keep it at a stable 30/60fps.
You can avoid micro stuttering, when you enable the "OpenMP Texture Decoder".
