You're not getting the point.
You don't need a $1000 CPU, nor need to overclock.

You are already able to play a lot of games good enough with HLE.
You should be able to play certain games with LLE too (Tales of Symphonia, etc).

Certain games, like said above, Mario Galaxy, will require an overclock at some point IF you want to play at 60FPS constantly.
A 2500K/3570K at stock should be able to play the game really well.
fair enough. let me reword my original question.

windwaker crashes under hle. it hangs in some instances. one fix is lle. is there anything else i could do instead? safe texture cache doesn't work and there were a few others i tried but feel free to suggest.
LLE
nu-uh
Nah , overclocking is easy , most people could do that (except for kid or total noob)

I'm sure lots of kids can actually
i DO listen. i just want it working without choppy sound. 60fps i don't care about.

im a noob at overclocking a total noob. teach me how to overclock a i7 2760qm
Overclock a Laptop ? Seriously ...
It's possible though you must pay for a program called "setfsb"
And do at your own risk
@daaceking - For SMG on LLE, you might want to check out the VBeam Trick. It won't do any thing for your FPS (but you said it doesn't matter anyway) but it could remove the stuttering. Try enabling Accurate VBeam emulation first, then if that doesn't help, try disabling Idle Skipping.
great, that accomplished nothing

this is going in circles. close the thread.

thanks anyways. atleast it was an interesting debate
