Why was Duke Nukem Forver hated so much? well I've played Duke Nukem 3d and I loved it. I know that Duke Nukem was a game that every fan of the series was waiting for (and had high expectations). So I’ve been playing DN Forever for a few days and I like it – it is not bad but not the best. So why all of the negative reception?
because it was short
you had almost none of the freedom offered in DN3D
Duke is supposed to be armed to the teeth, not limited to 2 weapons like that faggot game halo
I completed it, one of the major things i like about it is the Retro style.
Like the jumping "animation" of Duke.
However, the game was way too short for what a true duke nukem fan would expect for 12 years in development so...
One of the main things i hate about it is how some NPCs don't look directly at you (They only stare in one direction)
I mean, even Half Life did this, even though the models just rotated.
However, it's a nice game gameplay wise. They should've kept the multiplayer mode for themselves though, playing as Duke vs. other Dukes just isn't fun.
^How short is it now :/ - I just got to the part where the Holsom twins get either abducted or killed (idk witch -.-)... how far am I in?

1. It was short
2. The gameplay was boring and the mechanics were poorly polished
3. The jokes were terrible
4. The graphics were meh
5. The overall level of quality was a joke

^ This
Yet it was fun and a good way to spend about 6 hours of my life it took me to go through it. Still not worth the money tough :/
Would have been better as a cheap XoxLive/PSN game.

1. I can't really argue this yet...
2. So because the game was imperfect that makes it bad? -.-;
3. It is not up to you to decide that... after all you did not make the game...
4. Here we go - another graphics over gameplay lover

5. I would love to see you do better :3

Hardly. NaturalViolence knows how to value good gameplay, it is just that in that game the gameplay also kinda sucked so there is not much left to be good, also for the press graphics matter a lot (about 50% I'd dare saying)
I mean, I really enjoyed the, game but it's not hard to see that it sucked. Just compare it to 1 - Duke Nukem 3D and 2 - Another modern good FPS.

No. The game was bad because it had lots of massive flaws.
When the gameplay is boring, the mechanics are poorly developed, and the graphics are meh you can't really point to anything and say "that was the reason I liked the game".
Quote:3. It is not up to you to decide that... after all you did not make the game...
That's terrible logic. Developers opinions on humor don't matter. The consumers opinions matter, they're the ones buying the product. They get to decide if they liked X or not. Nobody liked the jokes in DNF, nobody. They felt extremely forced. It doesn't matter if the developers liked their jokes or their product.

Did you not read my other 4 points? Graphics are always worth mentioning, but I'm not going to evaluate the entire product based on only that.
Quote:5. I would love to see you do better :3
I'm not a developer. They're not competing against me. I evaluate the quality of their product against the quality of other products of the same type (in this case video games made by other modern developers). Products need to be evaluated against their competition. "You can't make a better one" is not a valid argument because it's not my product that you're evaluating.
So why did you like the game?
^Ok granted some things did feel not so good - like some of the jokes pretty much sucked. However looking past that other things were ok - like I love the little things like when you have to drive an RC Car to get a power cell and how you can take the time to autograph books and things like that. Granted the little things like that dont make the game but it is nice that they took the time to put it in... also the new ego as health system ticks me off I think it makes the game a bit too easy but I like how you can do a multitude of things to get it up.
