I'm using Apacer AC 230 750GB USB 3.0 5400rpm . It's ~3 times faster than USB 2.0 (test on my friend pc)
7200rpm should be faster than mine
Not all USB-sticks are slow. Some of the more expensive ones use professional SSD controllers and are extremely fast.
