Super Mario Kart is everything but a terrible game.

He's talking about the very first one for the SNES, the one where all the tracks are not only bland, flat, and uninspiring, they're also slicked in some sort of invisible oil. That game is barely playable and far from enjoyable, so much that I even consider MK64 the first actual MK game Nintendo ever made. SMK was a bad joke that was probably sold on accident. Its only redeeming feature is multi-player, wherein you can invite someone else to suffer with you.

If you're talking about the first Mario Kart on SNES I agree

I really liked Super Mario Kart as a kid and I still enjoy playing it with friends on occasion. Also the music was pretty good, I don't know why you guys dislike it that much

edit: For me one of the worst games I've ever owned was Worms Forts, I only played it two times and was so disappointed with the indestructible environment that I uninstalled it and never looked at it ever since. Oh, and Spiderman 2 for the PC, while the console versions let you move through all of Manhattan, the PC version limits your movement to very, very small districts and generally sucks. Also the difficulty varied dramatically from level to level.

Well after playing 3D versions of Mario Kart I tried to re-play SNES version. I got a strange feeling. My car didn't seem to move, only surrounding graphics seemed to. A kind of speedwalk .
Btw I didn't get such a feeling with F-Zero

I think everyone is forgetting Notch stepped down as the lead developed and now Jeb is in charge. If any thin the new featurres in the game are cool but it makes the game bloated imo.
