Which of the two processor is better for Dolphin emulator ?

i7 3612QM (2.1GHz, 3.1GHz turbo)
i5 2450m (2.5GHz, 3.1Ghz turbo)

The i7 model has lower clock speed (but have similar max turbo clock). So, if both operate at same frequency i7 would be slightly better because it is based on ivy bridge

However, as far as I know turbo don't always reach max (it depends on the heat I think ?) so, doesn't this mean the i5 will reach the higher turbo clock most of time because i7 produce more heat ? Correct if I'm wrong

Which one is better ? Please don't give any other suggestion because I'm getting those laptops for a good deal. Both laptops have same ATI GPU and RAM

3612qm = Quad Core
2450m = Dual Core

Go for the i7-3612QM

the gpu is hd7670m

dolphin only uses 2 cores, so qaud core is useless. Which one is faster for emulators ?

Actually, Dolphin uses 3 cores (if LLE on thread is enabled)

Quadcore Ivy Bridge > Sandy Bridge.

As DefenderX said a GOOD quad core is really useful if you're using LLE.
If you plan to use PCSX2 it's a good deal too
