Oh, don't worry, these are just first baby steps in terms of gauging people's reactions to having a different design as there is now. I'm still experimenting with looks and the feeling of new designs, and will use the full range of OS features, like being able to use list, grid, thumbnail and gallery views.

Collecting the artwork isn't a big problem, as I have an extensive collection of them already, which I would make available as part of the app.

With regards to not including other areas of Dolphin emulation, like VC, WiiWare etc, I just wanted to stick to the two main areas the emulator is dedicated to. VC I don't think applies as it's merely an emulator itself and if I wanted to play an N64 game, I'd download Project 64, not a WAD for Dolphin.

Obviously, I'm a designer so the technicality around it goes waaay over my head, but I'd love for whatever design I went with to be able to be ported over, but I know Windows isn't as easy to design for, in terms of GUI but these show a good example of Windows apps going away from the norm http://windows.appstorm.net/roundups/25-beautifully-designed-windows-apps/
Are you saying you want a different design to match every OS Dolphin is on? And uh, OS features? You want the OS to handle the thumbnail generation? How does that work across three OSes and tons of GUIs?

You obviously haven't had to hunt down that elusive japanese release that you can only find on google at 100x100 res >_<. How big is your collection? A few dozen? A few hundred? There are THOUSANDS of artworks. We're talking Wii games, Gamecube games, Triforce arcade fliers, Wiiware titles, Virtual Console, and channels. The wiki doesn't even have half the necessary cover artwork to create a complete set! And that doesn't even include variations for different regions, which more or less triples it.

True, I probably don't have what you could call a complete collection, or even half complete, but I have pretty much every PAL and most NTSC covers of the most popular games, about 400, some of which are scans of my own.

Sorry if I confused anybody with my previous post, but I'd want the same new design to be present on all the major OSs.
