Dolphin, the GameCube and Wii emulator - Forums

I'm baffled by what could be the cause of this problem. I thought it might be today's Window's update, but I installed it and could not reproduce the problem. Could you guys update your profiles with the full name of your Windows installation (Home, Professional, Enterprise)? That's the only thing I can think of that you could possibly have in common. At this point, someone (just one person, check that it hasn't been made yet) should make an issue here since there are many people with this problem.

I would like to see if a specific program could be causing a conflict. If you are having this issue, can you run the following line in the Command Prompt (cmd.exe) and upload tasklist.csv:

tasklist /FO CSV>C:\tasklist.csv

The line doesn't do anything for me.

It should create the file at the root of your C: drive. If you do not have a C: drive, you will have to adjust the command for an appropriate location to save the file.

Yeah, I think he needs the file to help you. Since it's text, you can just post it directly or upload the file as an attachment, whichever one is most convenient for you.

and I am running Windows 7 Home Prem. 64 bit


and I have tried both the 32 bit and 64 bit versions of dolphin

And now I am very curious, I just downloaded it on my laptop which has the same version of windows as my desktop, and it works perfectly -_-

At the end of this post is a list of processes which may be responsible for this bug. I have listed them from most likely to least likely to cause a conflict. The last two are pretty common processes, so only test those once you rule out the other six. Please follow these steps to identify if a conflict exists:

- Open Task Manager and scan for the processes of interest and take note of their description
- Type "msconfig" into the run prompt (WINKEY+R)
- Click the Startup tab, and disable any items that are related to these processes
- Click the Services tab, and check the box "Hide all Microsoft Services". Disable any items that are related to these processes
- Click OK, then restart your computer
- Open Task Manager and check to make sure the processes are no longer running (It's okay if some are still running)
- Check if the problem is fixed
- If not, search Google on how to disable any of the processes that are still running, then check again if the problem is fixed. If you can't manage to disable a process, post here.

Another random fact. Its a sometimey thing with dolphin. Sometime it crashes *95 percent of the time* and sometimes i tinker with it and it doesnt. By tinker I mean that sometimes if I switch from running as admin and vice versa, it will open after many start up crashes. sometimes i will change the compatibility and it works again. I honestly just dont know whats going on but its weird and when I finally get it open, im scared to close it..


Still baffled beyond all belief that my laptop doesnt have this problem and they have the same version of windows...
