That benchmark doesn't tell me anything one way or the other. 75% is what I would consider "slightly slow", but wind waker is not a very demanding game so you'll need to do more benchmarks on a wide variety of games.

I mentioned my reasoning for this a couple of times:
NaturalViolence Wrote:They're both too slow for most games. Therefore they both belong in the slow category.
How would I describe a user experience above
NaturalViolence Wrote:Even with heavy overclocking these cpus are simply too slow for most games. But below:
NaturalViolence Wrote:These cpus run most games at fullspeed with HLE audio if they are heavily overclocked. But at stock speeds they may have have trouble.
There is a grey area inbetween the two, sure, but I can't draw a line in the sand anywhere in the middle so I really have no way to further separate them into User experience tiers.

The point is you aren't gonna get anywhere with either. Whatever category they are in they will still be too slow to run the majority of games at full speed no matter what the clock, so people shouldn't buy them. This helps explain that.

Performance categorized by box names:
Please note that the very fast category has been eliminated for laptops which changes the numbers for the categories.
Category 1: Extremely Fast
When overclocked these cpus can run nearly any game at fullspeed even with LLE audio. Without overclocking most games will still run well with LLE audio.
-Intel Core i7 Extreme Mobile
-Intel Core i7 Mobile
-Intel Core i5 Mobile
Category 2: Fast
These cpus are fast enough to run most games at fullspeed with HLE audio, especially when overclocked.
-Intel Core i3 Mobile
Category 3: Moderate/fast
Inbetween moderate and fast. Faster than category 4 but slower than category 2.
-Intel Core 2 Extreme Mobile
-Intel Pentium
-AMD Phenom II
Category 4: Moderate
These cpus run most games at fullspeed with HLE audio if they are heavily overclocked. But at stock speeds they may have have trouble.
-Intel Core 2 Duo Mobile
-Intel Core 2 Quad Mobile
-AMD A10 series
-AMD A8 series
-AMD A6 series
-AMD A4 series
-AMD Turion II
Category 5: Slow
Even with heavy overclocking these cpus are simply too slow for most games.
-Intel Pentium Dual Core
-Intel Core Duo
-Intel Core 2 Solo
-Intel Core Solo
-Intel Pentium M
-Intel Pentium 4 Mobile
-Intel Pentium 4-M
-AMD E2 series
-AMD Athlon II
-AMD Turion X2 Ultra
-AMD Turion X2
-AMD Athlon X2
-AMD Athlon 64 X2
-AMD Turion 64 X2
-AMD V series
-AMD Turion
-AMD Turion 64
-AMD Athlon 64 Mobile
Category 6: Will not run the application at all (you will get an error message).
-Intel Pentium III-M
-Intel Pentium III Mobile
-Intel Pentium II Mobile PE
-Intel Pentium II Mobile
-Intel 486DX2-S
-Intel 486DX-S
-Intel 486SX-S
-Intel 486SL
-Intel 386SL
-AMD Athlon XP Mobile
-AMD Athlon Mobile
-AMD Duron Mobile
-AMD K6-III+
-AMD K6-2+
-AMD K6-III Mobile
-AMD K6-2 Mobile
Celeron m and sempron mobile have not been included because these are names that have been used for all low budget mobile cpus for Intel and AMD for 9 years (in the case of sempron mobile) and 13 years (in the case of celeron m). Some are very old and very slow. Others are very new and very fast. There is no way to distinguish them without the model number.
Netbooks and Nettops
Performance categorized by box names:
Category 6: Slow
Even with heavy overclocking these cpus are simply too slow for most games.
-Intel Atom
-AMD E series
-AMD C series
-AMD Turion II Neo
-AMD Athlon II Neo
-AMD Turion Neo X2
-AMD Athlon Neo X2
-AMD Athlon Neo
-Any VIA cpu
All netbooks and nettops are too slow to run dolphin well. Don't even bother.

Without the dedicated GPU (Nvidia , AMD) , the answer is no

I was thinking less of "people buying them" and more of "people that already have the CPUs not even bothering because the list says their slow".

OK then, what do you want me to benchmark? For consistency sake I'll probably just use the same Dolphin build & config used for the Wind Waker benchmark.

Whatever you have.

They shouldn't bother. They should upgrade to something better. We get really annoyed when they come here and complain that they're not getting good performance and it's very obvious that this is because of their outdated hardware. That's the whole reason that this thread exists.

Probably not. You would have to score some pretty good results compared to other athlon X2 users to convince me to take it out of the slow category. WW isn't a very demanding game.
