after doing some digging by google searching "backpatch eax dolphin" there were a number of people experiencing this only with several games, and not just on recent dolphin builds but pass ones. Most of these complaints were posted on dolphins google code page.
On one in particular regarding donkey kong country returns the person linked his MD5 checksum and people told him to redump the game and that fixed it.
Did you lose your dump of the game when your save was lost and had to redump?
I am suffering from the same problem, the thing is though is that past dolphin builds i could not get this game to break 30-40 fps so i would not play it.
With dolphin 716 i can run the game fast enough for me to break 50fps mark and enjoy it.... for about an hour until i get the error.
I followed the advice on dolphin google code page about redumping, and still in the process. The person inquiring about donkey kong country returns said he redump the game and everything is working fine for him now.
having hard time finding the thread but i will post as soon as i find it.
EDIT: Oh im sorry it was not DKCR, the person was having problem with Mario Galaxy 2.

Re-dumped DKCR (and it only took 3 hours) only to find out that its an identical copy of previous dump (same MD5/SHA-1 hash as my original dump) and i still keep getting the error.
Would you mind posting your settings?
UPDATE: ok i fixed my problem (which yielded same error as you)
I stumbled across the dolphin games wiki page and it says on there that you have to enable "Lock Threads to Cores" to prevent random crashes
I could not beat the second lv of the Beach zone, every time i tried halfway id get the "backpatch... could not write... eax" error followed by a series of annoying panic handlers, but with this enabled i can now play just fine with no crashes, i hope this solves your problem as it did mine.
let us know

Thank you for your time, and sorry for not noticing the reply. I have gone back to my older version of Dolphin for the time being. I believe I always have "Lock Threads to Cores" enabled, but next time I update Dolphin I will be sure to test this!! Thank you!!
"BackPatch: Currently only supporting reads.
Attempted to write ######### (gives a lot of different numbers)"
I've just now received this same error on Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. It happens as I enter the STAR game in Hyrule Town (After paying the 10 rupees and a black loading screen appears).
The game has run fine so far on either Dolphin 3.0-735 and 3.0-750 except for this particular part.
Have tried both DSP HLE and LLE, as well as the "Lock Threads to Cores" function. I'm using mostly the default settings otherwise.
I suppose my specs aren't really relevant in this case, but for the record:
i-2600k
Win 7 x64
GTX560
8GB ram
I wouldn't really mind if this bug prevents me from completing the STAR game and I've moved on playing the game. However I'm still curious.
Thanks for your replies.

I would get the same issue. I have since gone back version numbers and I do not receive it. Dolphin v3.0-376
