Meh, I was assuming that one hadn't been mentioned yet because you said "But simply disabling it would solve the first two and be a lot easier. " ... how would disabling it change anything about its uselessness? That's like having an option (which is disabled by default and has no GUI control) for randomly breaking stuff (.. something which kinda is the case for disable lighting) just for the heck of it.

Plus, disabling it by default doesn't change anything about nabs who copy over their config between thousands of revs and always have had that setting checked.

Now that is a reason I hadn't even thought about, and a good one too. Also applies to the "Fast Mipmaps" removal. Now this should be enough to silence the critics^^
Disable textures probably improved performance on GeForce Turbocache. Tongue No pesky textures means everything fits in 16/32MB of RAM.
Then you guys must never have played Fatal Frame 4, which Disabling Lighting actually *improved*, since a)the game is way too darkly lit and b)it made the game faster.

But what does my opinion matter.
Thanks for bumping an almost 2 year old thread.
I think this conversation is over. Nikostratus you can talk about this in the thread you created just for your issue.
