Are you sure you don't have a discrete gpu? The HD 4000 is not powerful enough to handle anything over 1x or 1.5x IR for most games. And you're running at an IR 4-8 times as high as that.
I've looked at the specs on the Retina Pro, it has way higher specs than he is listing (I don't think he quite knows how powerful his computer is). The CPU is quad-core, not dual-core, and the GPU auto-switches to an NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M with 1GB of VRAM.

I think it has GF6xx discrete gpu.

I am playing using opengl and OSX lion.

Could you post a video if you get the chance? Screenshots can't really do 60 FPS justice.
Well then I guess we'll have to wait for his actual specs/settings.

Axxer & NaturalViolence As Much as I wish I had the new macbook pro with the Retina Display I only have the baseline macbook pro w/o the retina display(GreenKirby21 is the one with the Retina display macbook pro).I just wanted to know if I could play Mario Kart Wii and SSBB in 1x(Native) resolution smoothley. My computer has a dual core Ivy Bridge clocked at 2.5ghz(Turbo boost to 3.1ghz)CPU And the GPU is the Intel HD 4000 with 4 gigs of RAM.

That makes MUCH more sense. Thanks for clarifying. Your CPU should work well @3.1GHz (as long as it doesn't overheat like mineAngry). I think the GPU will have some problems though; keep the graphics settings as low as you can, and you MIGHT manage to get decent speeds. The RAM is fine.

My mistake. I mixed up the names.

No problem. But what do you think natural violence? Will I be able to emulate the games at around 50 to 60 fps w/ 480p on my computer?I really hope I can because I dont have enough money to get the macbook with a discrete gpu.

Probably not. It's been discussed here.

Look at his name. He isn't the guy who posted this thread, he just wanted to know if his computer would work and asked in the wrong thread.
