The difference between you and wally123 is that he was trying to argue for something that practically everyone knew was wrong because it was so well documented and discussed on these forums.
Not many people (unlike you) are as familiar with the inner workings of the GC/Wii about how they run the games in regards to the GC/Wii operating system and how the games interact with the hardware, since they aren't topics that have come up in the general forums.

Sure, but if you're actually talking about "faith" rather than "knowledge", those are very different things and not much good can come from debating them on the internet (or anywhere else...).
On the other hand if you're saying I should be regarded the same as Wally123, that is a grievous insult and I may have to challenge you to fisticuffs.
Haha, all i am saying is that it wouldn't happen with just your first post here, you would have to make yourself known first one way or another.
A similar case video, where a famous musician played like he was any other street musician and what happened:

@tueidj I want to take a moment to personally apologize for not saying anything. I actually made a post about you back
here. Being a forum lurker here, I saw when you made your first few posts and recognized you immediately. By the time I would have said something there was a serious shitstorm brewing and I didn't want to get involved... sorry
This post came out a bit more dark than I would have liked so have this:
Kirbypuff is getting on my nerves. He's posted like 5 threads today arguing about various supposed performance regressions from recent optimizations listed in progress reports from the past few months. Of course, all of the things he is mentioning were heavily tested, and yet he provides no information, he just says things that are in the progress reports are wrong and bad. And he "quotes" everything he speaks about, which is infuriating. ARGH! The fact it is always things from progress reports leads me to believe he's just a griefer.
Aren't you a mod? Either add warnings to his account every time he does it until he's auto-banned or PM an admin to do it.
My own rage for today. Bit of a run on sentence, also slightly controversial.:
(Show Spoiler)
Seeing Anita Sarkeesian on the colbert report misleading the audience about #Gamergate and colbert not calling her on it or doing any research about the events that led up to it. That really pissed me off because of how much I love and respect colbert. I expect this kind of shit from fox or msnc but not colbert. Someone please remind me why this 30 year old blogger with a womens studies degree who has done literally nothing to advance gender equality other than produce a series of youtube videos bashing common tropes in tv/movies/games for being sexist is now seen as the one of the principal leaders of the modern feminist movement and is constantly giving speeches to major media outlets, game developers, tech conferences, etc. Why does anyone care at all what she thinks? Why does she have so much influence over the video game industry and western media? This makes no sense to me.

This is why you aren't a mod.

What did she say that was misleading? While dialup means I can't watch her videos, I have read some transcripts, and what I read was more or less correct. A little exaggerated, and some mistakes (criticizing Witcher 2 instead of the obvious Witcher 1 with the horrific sex card mechanic? seriously?), but nothing really misleading.
Why am I even talking about this? I tried so hard to stay out of this drama. I would have forgotten all about it if it wasn't for that colbert episode.:
(Show Spoiler)
It was mostly what she (and colbert) didn't say. She implies that gamergate was/is some sort of movement against gender equality or women in the games industry and that's pretty much the end of it. No discussion was made at all about any of the zoey quinn stuff, all of the corruption that was revealed about major gaming media outlets (mostly kotaku) or the journalists who works for them, or anything else actually related to why the hashtag started popping up in the first place. Keep in mind this was a 10 minute long segment he did on this. It's not like they didn't have time to discuss it. I don't even use twitter or tumblr (or any social media for that matter) because I know how shitty it is and even I know about this stuff from doing 5 minutes of "research" on google! Why didn't either of them bring up any of the events/drama that defined the movement? The only thing the audience can take away from this is that gamers/games are sexist. Which is what she wants.
Why I dislike her in general:
I hate how she always manages to hijack any new controversy in the media to further her goals. Even school shootings. The only reason she got wrapped up in this thing is because the person at the center of all these conflicts of interest happened to be a female and happened to be someone she knew (any may have been friends with, quinn was definitely a major supporter at the very least). Nobody in the #GG really cared that quinn happens to have a vagina. But Anita apparently thought that was a big deal for some reason. Anita (and her supporters) backlash somehow turned what should have been something that everyone could agree on into a gender divisive issue. And yes before anyone says it I completely recognize that some of the #GG supporters are definitely sexists. That doesn't invalidate the majority. Normally I wouldn't care at all what some idiot that posts a lot on social media thinks. There are millions of them. But this particular person in the span of just a few months/years has managed to gain an alarming level of influence over the industry. Her supporters even managed to censor 4chan. That's something that not even the president of the united states could do! She killed one of the few significant positive movements for proper gaming journalism that has ever happened just to boost her sphere of influence. Any true feminist should have been appalled at what these journalists and Quinn did and supportive of TFYC. This kind of shit makes me suspicion about what she actually wants to do to video game development once major devs are inevitably forced to listen to her. Does she really care about these issues or does she just want a platform to prop herself up on? Her words certainly imply the former but many of her recent actions do not.
God I want to stop talking about this already. I believe the only way to kill her power is for everyone to just start ignoring her. No matter how controversial she tries to be or how much drama she tries to stir up just ignore her and she will eventually fade into obscurity.

*Doesn't get the joke*
Ah... Well, I disagree with you on the gamergate and Anita Sarkeesian stuff. But you don't want to talk about it, and I'm not in the mood to argue, so let's just walk around that minefield and leave it at that.
So it isn't just me that was having an issue with Kirbypuff.
Which one, exactly?
EDIT: Never mind, just saw the bunch of posts and threads the guy made.
