I have to stop browsing reddit. Any time they discuss computer hardware lots of morons get upvoted to the top for posting things that are completely wrong. It pisses me off. I want to correct them but then I think about how much time it would take to elaborate on my points and that my posts might be downvoted anyways if it happens to contain unpopular facts (thus making sure that no one can see them). Which makes me not want to bother. Yet it still annoys me that these people will go uncorrected and everyone will assume that they know what they're talking about, thus causing the misinformation to become even worse as it spreads. *Inhales/exhales intensely into plastic bag*

So are there any sites that anyone here would recommend that could give me similarly thorough and up to date news about gaming software/hardware on a daily basis? And good discussions about these topics without being bogged down by idiots? Ok I realize that the former is pretty easy to get and the latter is borderline impossible so I guess I'm more concerned about the latter.

That should never persuade you from telling the truth. You might just want to figure out a way of doing it so that you're not seen in a negative light.
By that logic I should go around responding to the nearly limitless youtube comments that do the same thing. There has to be a point where you say "it's not worth it". So instead I just try to avoid these types of places. But reddit is setup in such a way where you pretty much have to at least glance as the comments since often times something about the article or title of the post is misleading or just downright wrong and the comments will tell you about it. Not to mention the genuinely intriguing discussions they have MOST of which are not full of ignorant shitheads.

Plus I'm sick of being the bad guy who has to change everyone's minds. It's so frustrating. It feels like everyone against you at times. Digging up info. just to provide evidence against a popular opinion to convince some random stranger on the internet that he/she is wrong about something. I just don't want to deal with it anymore. Picking and choosing words super carefully instead of speaking my mind is very annoying sometimes as well. I feel like this place alone exhausts my weekly limit of correcting people.
I didn't tell you to go around the internet telling everyone that they're wrong, but when you do decide to, try not to come across in a bad way. I think we all can use that advice. It's easy to come across as "you're stupid and I'm smart", but there has to be a better way so that people can react positively. I'm certain you understand what I'm talking about. Other than that, if you're sure that you've done all you can, forget about what happens after that. You simply can't do any more.
NV, use more smiley's when correcting people. Yes, it's that simple Wink
Perfect spelling, grammar, and punctuation also help to make you look like you know what you're talking about.

Either that, or we could start a 'Robokitty' meme. Then we could post 'Robokitty says the FX 8123 is slower than an i7 3570K clocked as high, even on multithreaded tasks' It would get upvotes once popularised. The only problem is that wrong people could use it to 'correct' people who post correct information.
Yeah......no.
The great thing about the dolphin forums is the sparse number of the active users, this ensures room for good behavior, mature conversations and little spamming, so you need a not so well known site to ensure that.
wow. I was checking online for any new status on that ps3 debugger and I found one of the most blatant scams I have ever seen before. http://ps3.emulatorx.info/
This website is claiming that it can run nearly any ps3 game at decent speeds with as little as a 2 ghz intel dual core! For the alleged emulator download, it blatantly states that it is not possible to download unless you like it on facebook or another way to get it higher on google searches, and then it will proceed to download something that is probably malware onto your computer! It is insane at how many people fell for that, despite all the warning signs, including the fact that a dual core intel laptop @ 2.00 ghz aka mine cannot run the majority of GAMECUBE games at full speed so it definitely could not run a ps3 emulator at anything more then a single fps, and that the alleged project is closed sourced. I still cannot believe that anyone could fall for this. Anyone else find websites like this?

.... But your rants are funny Sad on a serious note, it's not bad being the dude that corrects everyone. You're basically a teacher in that whoever sees what you wrote gets smarter about whatever it is. Most of what I learned about computers last year are from your rants. So take pride in making the community as a whole smarter.
