So I'm trying to run Rune Factory Tides of Destiny on
Dolphin 3.0-682

I get around 100% emulation speeds upon entering the menu and loading.
When I spawn in the house, its still ~100%, (30 FPS)

Whenever I exit the house and explore the town the emulation speed drops to anywhere between 60-80% and sometimes jumps up to 80-90% with time (as i stand still). It jumps back down whenever i move.

In fights the emulation speeds cuts down to roughly around town speed and when the fight ends, the emulation speeds up noticably

Cutscenes run fine, and general talking is ok although it turns choppy.

Is there a way to improve emulation speed or is this just a lack of hardware ability?

Emulation Settings:
Framelimit: Auto
JIT Recompilier
LLE recompiler (HLE doesn't work and audio is choppy when HLE is used)
Dump Audio enabled
Use EuRGB60 Mode (PAL60)

Direct3D9
Intel® HD graphics Family
full screen res 800x600
1x Native IR, No AA, 1x AF

I apologize for any messiness.
Thank you for the help!

Operating System: Windows 7 64-bit
Processor/CPU: Intel® Core ™ i5-2410M CPU @ 2.30GHz
Video Card/GPU: Intel HD 3000 (integrated)
Memory/RAM: 4.00GB
Dolphin Revision Currently Using: 3.0-682
Quote: Dump Audio enabled

why?
Yeah that can slow things down.
And this :
Direct3D9
IntelĀ® HD graphics Family
full screen res 800x600
1x Native IR, No AA, 1x AF

Isn't a good card for Dolphin. If your PC isn't a laptop - get yourself a discrete video card, even entry level card like GT440 will perform ten times better aka 1600x1200 2xIR 8xAA 16xAF

Ah Yes
unfortunately it is on my laptop, so I don't believe I can upgrade the graphics card Sad

As to why dump Audio, I don't believe it does make a difference (or a lot)
I was playing around with the settings and I believe I left it checked by accident. When its unchecked, it still runs the same.

I originally had this laptop for mainly work purposes and the occasional no$GBA fun to relax.
I recently started using Dolphin emulator.
I'm more focused on getting +90% emulation speeds with a recognizable res then getting awesome res (unless it helps the emulation speed which I don't believe are linked..?)

So would the slow emulation speed be actually due to hardware being unable to handle Dolphin/ToD?

its because you using a laptop and not a gaming laptop or pc

Alright Thanks for the help!

One last question, so i just randomly decided to set the frame limit to Off
and the game sped up super fast (up to 166%) in conversations but would drop down to 80-100% in towns and fights.

Anyway of stabilizing that?
or is that just me making my computer overwork itself?
Set Framelimit back to "Auto".
