Bear in mind that the two main threads of dolphin won't take up more than two cores, so won't give you more than 50% CPU usage.

Thanks to rpglord, and the guy who made some progress with something in the multi-threading thread, today has been an interesting day for dolphin.
Having a 3570k@3.4Ghz myself, I can run SMG 1 & 2 with ease. Sometimes with minor drops to 85-95%. Bear in mind that I use HLE, not LLE. Haven't bothered to overclock yet. Smile

Any why exactly can't you run LLE ? There is almost no difference in perfomance

I haven't tried yet. I thought there was a big performance difference between those two but I guess I was wrong. I will try though when I got the right files etc.. There are some games that require LLE to run, right?

It is bigger diference if you have only dual core, since you cant use "lle on thread" option which speeds up LLE.
There is still difference depending which game you play
For this one,I tested it and it was about 5% difference.
And yes,you do need dsp rom files put in sys/gc directory

Most of games will RUN without LLE but a lot of games need LLE to WORK correctly

Ah I see. I did indeed notice some buggy audio in some games. (ex: paper mario, mario bros) Rolleyes

Cracked it! I'm an idiot. I forgot to check the 'Limit by FPS' box, despite it being a recommended setting for SMG2 in the wiki. Full 60FPS now and I can finally play the Mario Galaxy games in glorious HD! Thanks guys!
Do know that you might unsync with the audio if you limit it by FPS.
But glad to hear you've figured it out.
No, I didn't realise that. Do you have 'Limit by FPS' checked when you run it at 60fps? If I just use 'auto', 'audio', or '60' on their own then my framerate is limited too much and will have drops to the low 50's. Is this the same for everyone? If not then I'm back to square one...
