I've been wanting to try some hi-res custom texure packs, but I cannot seem to get them to work.
I've got them placed in the proper directory Dolphin\User\Load\Textures\Game ID, and "Load Custom Textures" enabled but nothing happens.
Running 3.0-684.
What game are the hi-res textures for? Also, what's the full path that you're placing the textures in? (e.g. C:\Games\Dolphin\User\Load\Textures\ABC123) It could be something simple like having the wrong GameID or folder, or something could be wrong with the textures.
It is this pack:
http://forums.dolphin-emu.org/showthread.php?tid=23402
Game is Super Mario Sunshine (US) and full path is T:\Games\Wii\Dolphin 3.0-684-g99b7c91df5db ICC x64 by DefenderX\User\Load\Textures\GMSE01
Inside the GMSE01 folder there is 3 subfolders named 1 Worlds, 2 Nature, 3 Characters
I double checked my image for Super Mario Sunshine and it is indeed a match.
The textures are working, i use them

And the path is correct so i assume, you've downloaded the false texture pack region. Try GMSP01.
Edit: Or your previous download was somehow broken.
The image files themselves need to be in the hires texture folder, not the subfolders.

It is GMSE01 as I have a the USA version of the game.
As these were packed in rar files I do not see how it could have been a broken download. It would not have extracted properly if anything was wrong.

I tried moving all the png files from the subfolders and dumping them all into the same GMSE01 folder. It did not work.
I've gone back to the way the pack was originally structured.
Upon further evaluation I think some of the textures are working (click thumbnails):

You can see the X button above the FLUDD icon is working; as is the X between the Mario and 13. And when I pause, the SAVE text is hi-res.
However, other portions of the interface and environment textures which are supposed to be hi-res, such as that WANTED poster, are clearly not. Navigating through the textures folders, I can certainly see the hi-res pngs are in there where they're supposed to be.
You can see in this screenshot from the author of the texture thread, what is supposed to be hi-res in the interface:
Do you have fast mipmaps enabled or disabled? Should be disabled.
I fixed the issue - texture cache accuracy needed to be set to "Safe."
Now that it is fixed it is glorious. The game looks better than an Xbox 360 game most of the time when widescreen hack is turned on too. I hope Wii U's graphics are this good...

No.
(Well, you can technically insert custom textures if you figure out the game's format and hack the disc image, but the hardware isn't going to be able to handle these high-res textures anyway.)
