The pack is split into two distinct parts:
 • The HUD - contains HUD elements, particles, Mario's base skin and a few shaped elements: flowers, plants, grates, etc.
 • World (20% done) - Textures for trees, buildings, planets, etc. Downsized to 1024x1024 from the original 4096x4096.

The HUD contains an enhanced version of Mario's default suit that has a visual artifact. I tried pinpointing the origin of the crack on Mario's back but nothing. If someone wants to mess around with the texture and fix it, let me know and i'll give you the credits. Meanwhile i placed that texture in a separate folder within the main folder so you can find it with ease and remove it. This is the "crack" i'm talking about.

Enjoy!
Most of the names for the European version of the HUD pack are wrong, but after I fixed that as best I could with my own ridiculously partial texture dump, what I got working worked well.
I'm sad to hear that, and i don't know what i can do to fix it. This resaving you're doing's just like doing half my job all over again. I am currently working on the particles and smaller HUD elements and dumping&replacing those will be a pain in... your time.
I tested both the EU and US version, with no issues so far.

I encountered something similar to what you're describing yesterday, with build 683, when the same files were being dumped with different names (other than the ones i had worked with in the first place). And that was all because I had Texture Cache Accuracy set to FAST in Graphics->Hacks. So I dragged the slider to SAFE and the textures were then being dumped with their "proper" names.

Check this screenshot out and let me know if that's your problem and if setting the Texture Cache Accuracy to SAFE (if that's the case) solved it. The ones marked with green are the ones i retextured. Let me know what build you're using so i'll do some testing on it as well.

If I ever decide I'm content to play it with HLE bugs, or LLE stutter I'll see what I can do to help, but for now at least I won't be doing much. If you finish this on your own before haswel or broadwell (when I'll buy a new CPU and Mobo) then that would be excellent, though.
This will be amazing if you finish it.
Can I ask, have any of these textures been stylised? I've basically started renaming things to work with fast texture cache, and have done most of the HUD, yet some seem to only kind of match, or not really match at all. If you could say which ones don't match the originals, then I'd be able to use them.

ignore attachments unless you are razius.
I made a variation of the flare, closer to the original.

The flower swing is another example of stylized/original remake variations. I like the stylized one more than the flat one and i tried not to get too creative but rather enhance it a bit.

Remake ----- Original ----- Stylized remake

Some more original/stylized remakes thumbnails. Thing is there's not much difference between the full size originals and the thumbnails of the remade versions, so every detail i add is arbitrary, for all intent and purpose i could add some "space magic" equations (quite popular in the crappy sci-fi wannabes of today) here and there. If i don't add any detail at all to some of the textures (see the last example), the simple enhancement will make the game look less blurry due to the more detailed shapes but still flat and lifeless.
