And there are numerous fixes to the core that can't be simply fixed with a plugin and rdb update.

Project64 1.5: August 29th 2002
Project64 1.6: April 1st 2005
1.6 was released in less then 3 years after 1.5 which isn't that much of a time really.
Project64 1.7: ???
Well we're up to 2012 now and the years just keep coming and coming and coming and coming.
But I really don't care anymore since most of the issues I have had is gone now with newer plugins.
While you wait, I'll just enjoy my games.
You might want to cryogenically freeze yourself because it may take a while though.
PJ64 is dead, the only reason the "Donate" button is there, is to scam peoples money.
Dolphin Forever.
Reverse Engineer Virtual Console to play any N64 Game e.g. Goldeneye, and you have a free N64 Emulator.
When you start a Wii or Dolphin do you wanna play a game that ain't GC/Wii game? I don't
N64 games have to be played on N64 or N64 emulators. These emulators are NOT perfect that's true (some of my games don't work) but I like the idea of starting a N64 system/emulator to play my games.
Moreover not sure old games work so perfectly on Dolphin. Just have a look to N64 Zelda games. Once again for me Dolphin isn't made for this kind of games and it isn't a criticism

Indeed.
But you know, even Jabo (kinda) says the project is (kinda) dead...

Zilmar didn't have a wife and child to support at that point, he dedicated alot more time to the emulator then he can.
I'm actually happy that he made more time for them than the emulator. He has his priorities straight.

Yeah he really has his priorities straight. With a wife and kid he should enjoy every moment with them instead on working on Project64
I applaud him for that.
Project64 1.6 should be enough for anyone today wanting to have a good time with the old Nintendo 64 games.

Yeah well there is always gonna be someone that wants to pay the odd ones, games like Mario no Photopie for example.
They just have to use the real N64.
Basically what I mean is popular games like Mario, Zelda, Super Smash Bros, Perfect Dark, GoldenEye etc. etc. etc.
But really 1.6 is enough, I have been using it since 2005 and it speaks for itself.
Not to mention 1.6 works on any crap nowadays, even ridiculous netbooks so I can play when I go to my friend's beach house, because there he only got that. 1.7 requires a "decent" gpu like a FX 5200, otherwise it'll run slow afaik

According to this excellent french site
http://www.emulation64.fr/?page=accueil : less than 20 games don't work on Project64 1.6 (2 StarWars games and Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine make part of these games). Btw these games don't work with other N64 emulators either
