OK. And the reward for this donation is a virus Big Grin
But more seriously I'll have a look to official sources : I'm curious to know if some games (I'm thinking of StarWars games here) are now playable

Ahh Im too lazy to explain pj64's situation now, maybe Ill do it later...
Just to clear out here, is condoms safe to use?
Yes 99.99% of the times they're safe use.

Is Dolphin safe to use? Yes 99.99% of the times it's safe to use.
Why is it that it's not 100% safe, that's because it's up to you the end user and where you got it from.
Unsafe downloads = bad condoms
Safe downloads (meaning from official site) = great condoms and great time

As for Project64 this is basically what you need today:

Project64 1.6
Official updated RDB (1.6.016) + GameFAQ
Updated Plugins by Jabo (1.6.1)
Glide64 Final (10th anniversary)

With 1.6 and the stuff mentioned above games like Paper Mario, Star Wars - Shadows of the Empire, Yoshi's Story doesn't even flicker anymore.
All my 11 games is working beautifully really.

Project64 1.7 have been in alpha/beta stages forever and is not worth the time.
I have been waiting for it the last 5 or so years but I have given up hope.

1.6 is all I ever need.
Dolphin + Virtual Console = N64 Emulator

I agree. I've been using Glide64 too. Not sure it's the final version though Tongue

For N64 games I like using a N64 emulator
For GC/Wii games I like using a GC/Wii emulator

Mupen64Plus ftw :p It plays all of my games just fine. It's open-source, like Dolphin, so anyone can look at the code if they get suspicious. Doesn't mean you'll find anything if you don't know what to look for though. Better than nothing. Anyway, like everyone else said, look before you download, and let you AV do some scanning if you're worried about any files you encounter on the net.

Clearly you don't realise how long 1.6 was sat on before it finally released.

And there are numerous fixes to the core that can't be simply fixed with a plugin and rdb update.

I don't hear anyone bitching out Calb/Demo/Galtor for not having 1.7.2 or 1.8 released (with the disk swapping fixed), then again, that team isn't just comprised of a single developer working on the core for his own desire to understand it).

Be content that you got any versions of pj64, it was originally intended on being never released.

except if you get them from emucr, which on a few occasions have been caught out as being infected.....

Haha, yes, I've read about your feelings towards it before (I sometimes lurk on the PJ64 forums). Smile For me, it works pretty good for shit though, and that's all I care about. If it's not good enough for others, eh, too bad. :p
