Hello, here are Laptop my specs -
Windows 7 - 64Bit
CPU- AMD Athlon II Dual-Core P320 @ 2.1 GHz
GPU (intergrated so I believe people call them IPUs)- ATI Radeon HD 4250
RAM- 8GB DDR3 *Unbuffered*

I am looking into playing Super Mario sunshine and SSBM at a decent frame rate. I'm not sure if my GPU is bottlenecking my CPU. As you can tell I'm not so smart with this stuff Tongue
I am planning on upgrading my CPU to AMD Phenom II Triple-Core N870 @ 2.3 GHz. Would this give me a boost? I thought I read somewhere that this emulator only utilizes two cores. Is this true? If this helps at all, I am able to run Oblivion with 45-60 FPS on Medium display/textures at max resolution. Left 4 Dead 50-60 FPS (depending on the level) with everything on high.
Well, your CPU is weak... Super Mario Sunshine won't run @ fullspeed. I think, it won't be playable. Same with Super Smash Bros Melee.

A little boost, yeah. If i were you, i would buy a whole new notebook with Intel CPU Wink

Thanks for your reply, I am planning on building a desktop hopefully soon but my friend upgraded his CPU recently and offered to sell his old one, the Phenom to me for $20. That's why I asked if that specific processor would show any good results.

Yes but still far from full speed , not mention your ATI 4250 - class 4 is too weak
Minimum mobile GPU for Dolphin is Intel HD 3000 - class 3 on notebookcheck.net

I haven't seen anybody list their ram as buffered or unbuffered in years. Only servers use buffered RAM, and only some servers, most servers don't. Laptops, desktops, tablets, smartphones, netbooks, etc. do not use buffered memory so if you're talking about a consumer level system it's implied that you're using unbuffered ram even if you don't specifically state that.

No. We call them IGP. Integrated graphics processor.

Your GPU and CPU are both far too weak. You need an entirely new system, preferable with an core i5 or higher intel cpu.

Sorry to bump, but I have the same question.

Here are my specs:

Intel 2450m 2.5ghz - 3.1 Turbo

AMD HD 7690m XT 1GB GDDR5 dedicated Graphics

6GB

Thanks

can I run Super smash bros melee and Project M? at 60fps? I want 60 because I will be using this emu as to train my tech skills. Thanks again
Super Smash Bros Melee should run very well at Single Player Mode.
