Post processing is only available in the OpenGL back-end right now, and because of that, and that the devs do not want to clutter the UI more than it already is, I don't think they'll implement it.

I guess I'll give it a stab then, but it will take a bit because I have to analyze the source first and test it out.

I think I set it to OpenGL already but what do you mean by "back-end" ?
The devs don't want to "clutter the UI" ? I'm sorry, I don't understand what you mean.

I'm grateful if you're willing to help, really. But time is not a problem, I'm quite patient so don't worry ^^ (Except if you're talking like 6 months Confused )
OpenGL, DirectX 9 and 11, and the Software Renderer are all video backends for Dolphin. It basically refers to whichever API or functions get called to process graphical things.

The devs don't want to constantly keep adding things to Dolphin simply because someone requested it. Features usually shouldn't be useful to just a specific handful, rather it should be of some benefit to a broad range of users. The GUI has a lot of options already, and adding more options to it isn't very desirable software design unless there's a very compelling reason. If every feature request were added, the code and the UI would soon get a lot of cruft. Look up "feature creep" online for a better idea of what I'm saying.

That said, Dolphin is open-source software. No one's stopping you from modifying the software yourself to suit your own needs. I hack emulators all the time to get the result I want. Compiling your own software ain't that hard, and Dolphin has plenty of guides as well. Or you can get other friendly people like Garteal to help. Such is the magic of open-source software. Wink
I understand that if every requests were added to the... GUI (whatever that is anyway), it would become a huge mess. But I really need this feature to make my mod perfect (it's not done yet, I still have plenty more things to do) but this is a feature I've always wanted to have.

I also understand that it's open-source software, but trust me, I barely know anything in computers. All I do is hack a game using a tool. And since it was way easier than I thought, I managed to make some great hacks. But this is not difficult, it just takes hours and days and weeks.

Hacking an emulator, I didn't even it was possible, so I don't think I could do it...
Depends on the user's experience, but hacking an emulator can be easy for some. For me it's just a matter of knowing what I want, looking at the code, and going from there. I'm sure someone here might be willing to make a patch or custom build with the feature you want, if the devs decide not to commit it to Dolphin's code. I'd volunteer, but I don't have any Windows machine set up to compile Dolphin.

Btw GUI means graphical user interface.
I think my user experience is pretty low...

But what do you mean, you can't compile dolphin ? There is some emulators you can hack, and some others you can't ? oO
You'd do us all a big favor by googling words you dont understand

I'm on Linux, it's a different OS. My distro (and many others) come with tools that make compiling software really easy, usually the only thing I have to download is the source itself if I have all of the development libraries installed. Then I just change some code, and run a command or two, and it's hacked.

On Windows, it's a bit more involved. I have to download Visual Studio, set it up, and make sure everything is configured correctly. None of my Windows machines are setup to compile Dolphin, but my Linux machines are ready to go. Like I said, I'd offer to help you, but I'm short on time right now, and I can't spend it trying to get Visual Studio properly working.

Wow, you and garteal are really nice, I really didn't think someone would be inclined to help. Usually, when I ask for help on hacking sites, they either don't help me, or don't reply me.

Well thank you 2 for helping me (or willing to).

I also was wondering how to make a proper shader ? Because I didn't manage to merge "bad_bloom" and "invert". It always result in something awful. I've searched on google but didn't find anything helpful. So I'm asking you how to make my own shader ? (Because when I read the .txt file, it's just ununderstandable, so I believe there is a software that turn our modifs into a .txt file).

And also I'm running into a problem with the AR codes : I made a lot of codes and used others from some sites like gscentral, and they all work. But there is 2 codes that are really important for the mod, and they don't work, nevermind what I do, they just don't work. I tried them on my GCN and they do work... So the issue must come from the emulator. I already checked if it was for the good version etc etc and everything is fine... Any idea ?
Okay, I got it to work.
You can setup the hotkey in the Options -> Hotkey Settings -> Toggle Post-processing.
The default key is / (not on numpad), but you are free to change it to whatever you want.
Make sure you set a post-processing effect, or else there won't be anything to toggle between.

You can download it here.

If there's any problems/bugs/crashes, let me know.

You'll need to know GLSL if you want to make your own shader.
What exact effect are you looking for?
(Looking for an excuse to play with shaders now Tongue)

What game, game version and region are you trying it with?
Which exact codes are you having problems with?

Well you can see the effect I'm planning to give right here : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8cYzi1lJIc4
You can of course see the colors are inverted, but there is also a blur not too big, but still, just a little blur that makes the effect so great for Chaos Control ^^ You can hardly see I know :/

As for the AR codes that don't work, it's for the NTSC-US version of Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, and the two codes that don't work are :

Press L+R+D-Pad Up To Get Invincibility
U8UP-B9Y3-HXTTD
7XH0-HKAQ-1D5DN
WKXG-TD7J-6UB8U
V9F1-QMNF-X4WVH

Press L+R+D-Pad Left To Get The Speed Shoes
A0UC-D9YG-5F5EH
7XH0-HKAQ-1D5DN
6KPB-K58F-MJG1Z
K2K3-Z43G-1Z0CY

And I tried your download and it works ! Thank you very much ! =)
But I can't seem to manage to activate it with my X360 controller, when I hit a button it does nothing like if it wasn't recognized, do I have to do something first ?
